10 Lessons I Have Learned About Life…

This year I have become more insightful and understanding of my past, which I will share soon. I have learned in order to be truly happy with yourself, you must first accept everything about YOU and retrain your mind to think positive thoughts rather than negative thoughts. From observing different situations and life lessons I’ve been through, I have come up with a list to guide me how to live my life.
10 Lessons I Have Learned About Life
Think Positive Thoughts – Because what you tell yourself, you believe. The mind is a very powerful muscle and if you continue to speak negatively about yourself, you will continue to believe it. Start today by thinking positive thoughts; a successful person never got anywhere by thinking negatively.
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”― Henry Ford
Enjoy Each Moment – Because this moment right now you can never get back. Time is precious and should not be wasted. Enjoy every moment to the fullest, spend time with those who matter and do things you enjoy, because you don’t know if tomorrow will come.
Work Hard – Because good things never came to those who sat around and said, “Why not me?” When you work hard you are rewarded in so many ways.
“If you do the work you get rewarded. There are no shortcuts in life.” ― Michael Jordan
Accept Your Past– No matter how bad your past is, accept it because it is a part of you. Your past is not who you are, because your past should never dictate your future; however, you must accept it. Embrace it because it is part of you. Most importantly, learn from it.
Emphasize Your Strengths – Right now, get a piece of paper and write down 10 positive things you love about yourself. These are your strengths! Practice #1 (Think Positive Thoughts) and embrace all of your wonderful qualities you have to offer the world.
Be Kind – This seems so simple, but many of us cannot get it right. No matter what, be kind to everyone you meet, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle. I love the famous quote from Mother Theresa, it really speaks volumes.
Put Your Goals Into Action – Think about what you want right now and GO FOR IT! Time is precious, and you can never get it back. Make a list of your goals, create a plan and work hard to achieve each of them. Even if you do not succeed like you’d hope; you have still succeeded because you had the courage to go after what you wanted.
Be Patient – Another hard but very valuable lesson. Never rush anything, slow down and remember things happen when they are meant to happen. Continue working hard and never beat yourself up because it hasn’t happened yet!
“Remember it takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and 13 hours to build a Toyota.”
9) Never Stop Learning – Everyday you can learn something new. Never stop exercising your mind and learning all life has to teach.
Above All…..Smile – Smile because it makes you feel good. Smile because it makes others smile. Smile because it makes you happy. Most importantly, smile because there are so many beautiful things in life to smile about.
