Welcome to The $100 Question, where fellow BlogHers are asking questions ... and every answer could be worth one hundred dollars!
$100 Question Mom To The Screaming Masses
Let's meet today's host: Carmen from Mom To The Screaming Masses

Carmen is a mom of six kids who blogs at Mom To The Screaming Masses, where she chronicles the life and crazy times of a family of jocks, asthmatics, and big time complainers. She trains two forms of martial arts (capoeira and Muay Thai boxing) and is 3/4 of the way to her black belt. She's been known to hide beneath large piles of laundry. She's a fan of running races and can be found reading, lifting weights, punching the stuffing out of the bag at Muay Thai or running to the store for milk and bread. And coffee. In her spare time, she also blogs at Diets In Review, Zwaggle, and her much neglected diet and exercise blog, The Elff Diet. She never ever ever sleeps enough. She's currently working on a book about balance, and how NOT to have a nervous breakdown.

Ready to play? Here is The $100 Question for Monday, June 14:

Are you a singer?

Here's my answer: Of course I sing. I LOVE to sing. I LIVE to sing. My family, however, doesn't like to hear me sing. In fact, I have the dubious distinction of being the only member of a show asked NOT to sing. That's right - it was requested that I lip synch. It's a shame, really, for I love to sing and sing as often as no one else can hear me - and I KILL at karaoke - as long as I don't have a microphone. I think it's a disgrace that I can remember all of the lyrics to every song I've ever heard, and I dance like nobody's business - and I sound like Lucy Ricardo.

How to play: Tell Carmen your answer to her question in the comments below by 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 to be eligible to win. We'll enter all the comments into a randomizer and choose one lucky commenter to win. Comment as many times as you want. Click here to read the official rules. Good luck!

I love to sing to my kids. They hate it (but I think they secretly like it and just think they have to tell me to stop. This is what I tell myself as they run out of the room screaming while I sing).

My dh does tease me about it, though. I am a singer, in my mind.

I AM a singer! To myself, to my kids, in my car, to the radio....love it. Not necessarily good at it, but I love it!

clarkmurdock 5 pts

I love to sing, so when Im at home by myself, and in my car, yes, Im a singer. but for the sanity of others, I do not sing around them. I sound horrible.

choochoo 5 pts

I do sing. I'll sing on a stage, in a choir and everywhere else...but I'm outdone by my kid. Amazing.

JennVozik 5 pts

i can hit notes but i'm no Christina Aguilera, though i secretly wish I was lol!

handmaidmay 5 pts

I sing in the car, and when I am home alone. Unfortunately, I am much to insecure to sing around any other humans. My cats seem to love my singing voice :)

willitara 5 pts

I used to be a decent singer. Church choir, high school musicals, I enjoyed it all. Then I had a bad case of laryngitis and damaged my vocal cords. I still sing, but not in public.

SweeterLemon 5 pts

I sing along with the radio when I can, but that's about all. I wish I could sing better, but I'll leave it to the rest of you. :)

mail4rosey 5 pts

I have the same affliction; I know TONS of lyrics, word for word, and can't sing worth a lick.

barbarawr 5 pts

I love to sing, but only when I'm alone. I play show tunes on the piano and sing along. I sing while I'm cleaning, driving , gardening... everything.

eaglesforjack 5 pts

I love to sing int he shower and with the kids, and in the car, I am not sure any one would want to listen, I am not going to be on any shows any time soon, but i still love to sing!

jan1099 5 pts

I am only a singer when singing to my grandchildren, when I am in the shower or driving in my car. I love to sing

threedifferent 5 pts

I love singing - I sing in the shower, in the car, when I cook, all the time!

Aisling 5 pts

I can't carry a tune in a basket and I sound like a raspy frog, but I love to sing and do so when I'm alone in the car. I remember when I was young that my dad told me "We were told to 'make a joyful noise unto the Lord'. He didn't say you had to be able to carry a tune!"

Lvpierson 5 pts

YES, I love to sing, I wish I was a professional musician however I was not born with a great voice so I sing when no one is around :D

justine417@comcast.net

ava02 5 pts

ccboobooy 5 pts

I would love to have a beautiful singing voice, but it's never gonna happen.

showbizkp 5 pts

I'm a professional singer so I get to sing all the time!

Valeen 5 pts

I just discovered that I can sing! Now don't get me wrong, I've sung all my life... in the car, in the shower, while vacuuming, etc. but only when no one was around. Imagine my surprise when I got cast in a musical with a lead role...and yes I sing several solos in the show! Who knew....

Bacallsmom 5 pts

Only when no one else is around. And if you ever heard me sing, you would realize that is an act of mercy on my part. My cats even give me dirty looks when I sing.

Clamo88 5 pts

i have a voice that would make a dog howl or run with their tail between their legs..haha

LillyLilly 5 pts

I do sing but I'm not very good at it, so I just sing when no one is around. Even the cats run if I try to sing to them.

ladyt64 5 pts

I love to sing and so does my family. We play rock band, guitar hero and also Karaoke quite often. I usually want to sing but sometimes I give someone else a turn. I love an audience! lol

07violet 5 pts

I was in chorus in school and I got to go to competitions but I don't think I'm a great singer and I rarely sing, especially not by myself in front of others. I will sing along to songs I like when I'm alone sometimes.

susan1215 5 pts

I'm not a singer but I do like to hum and most of the time I'm not aware I'm doing it.

sharonjo 5 pts

Yes! I'd like to think of myself as a singer! Fingers crossed! Thanks! senekers@comcast.net

carolpie 5 pts

I even took voice lessons in high school and sang some opera but I am too nervous to sing in front of people.

garrettsambo 5 pts

I like to sing in the shower but I always hear my wife laughing hysterically. garrettsambo@aol.com

lizdehart 5 pts

No, I am tone deaf. But I pretend pretty well.

tlannan30 5 pts

I love to sing! I listen to music in the car really loudly and sing even louder. I am sure those that pass my by think I am a freak! Can I sing well? Nope! But I enjoy it all the same!

fangirl 5 pts

I sang in the choir all throughout high school and some in college. I was never a soloist, as I get really nervous when I sing alone in front of people. My husband likes my singing, but he may be a bit biased.

hbbs55 5 pts

I love to sing, the problem is I can't carry a tune.

wigraupel 5 pts

when i'm sure nobody is watching :0)

BarbS 5 pts

I enjoy it and do sing to myself quite often, but you really don't want to hear me. I've been told that I only sing in the key of A, no matter what key everyone else is singing in. But since I don't have a musical ear, I can't tell the difference...

TrayMona 5 pts

I'm no singer but that doesn't stop me from belting out the tunes on the Rock Band.

sweetypieinsc 5 pts

Only in my shower or after a few glasses of wine....

dddiva 5 pts

I am one of those who is fine when I am singing along with the radio or others but honestly- I don't think I'll ever be asked to perform a solo- there is ONE song I can sing alone that I don't sound like a dying hyena- that Janis Joplin one Mercedes Benz (or I should say- I can emulate her perfectly so ...)
;)
