Lock box with photos and videos of friends and family

Okay, I'm going to assume you want to know what I'd grab AFTER the living creatures, because surely you wouldn't make me choose just one. So I'd grab my computer hard drive. Can't live without that info.

miavitadolce 5 pts

didn't realize the time!

brought me back a beautiful necklace from Abruzzi the region of Italy where we are from a few years before he passed. It is a special necklace called Presentosa and it means the world to me and I would be devastated if I ever lost it.

Having been through 1 fire in my life & definately would get out my pictures and baby books. After of course my kids & grandbaby.

pruett 5 pts

We have had a fire and I did lose two cats in it, but no human family at least. Assuming that my family and cat are safe: I don't have as much left now, but there were a handful of things from my childhood: old storybooks, my "blankie" - those were hard to lose. Those are the types of things I would want to save.

garrettsambo 5 pts

Assuming my family was safe I would save my pooch. garrettsambo@aol.com

documents, laptop. Photos would be my #1, they are very important to me.

Swtlilchick 5 pts

I would save my scrapbooks and photographs.
These can not be replaced

amyhd29 5 pts

of course my kids&pets, but I would grab my little safe that has what I need(birth,ss cards,etc...)

I lost my home in a fire. I would say photos, important documents, and my computer are most important after insuring the safety of other family members and pets.

schnoodle 5 pts

I'm going to assume all my pets got out safe because I couldn't choose between them so I'd save my grandfather's football from the state championship game

chazvgo 5 pts

My children of course and my hard drive :)

leandrew 5 pts

In the event of a fire, I would 'definitely' make sure my wife and kids made it out the house FIRST!

And if time allowed, I would try to grab my laptop - where I store most of my important documents and pictures!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Good Luck to all!

happishopr 5 pts

I'd have to save family first, so hubby and the dogs would be tops on my list.

willitara 5 pts

If I could only save one thing it would have to be my cat. I couldn't leave behind a living being for inanimate objects no matter how much I would miss them.

07violet 5 pts

besides family and pets, it would be laptop/photos and anything else sentimental I could grab

degood 5 pts

If all my family members were safe, then I would grab my laptop because it has backups of everything from photos, to scanned in kid art, to scanned important papers, etc.

gmmerrell 5 pts

This probably sounds boring but I would save an envelope I have with my Social Security Card, birth certificate and passport. I think that would make recovery a lot easier

imnotasupermom 5 pts

I would most definitely pick photographs/videos. Those are often the only precious things of people who are gone that can never be replaced. I have a ton of pics I am trying to convert to CD which would make it easier to pack in a fire proof safe and easier to grab if leaving in a hurry.

NOT counting my pets and kids, I would save my photos as they are irreplaceable to me!

fangirl 5 pts

I'd save my cat, after I was sure my husband was safe.

NCBelle36 5 pts

I've always talked about getting a fireproof box to put those things in that you just never want to part with. I don't think there's a box large enough. Then again, all material stuff can eventually be replaced. So long as my family was safe and I had my purse ... everything else would be trivial.

ptreskovich 5 pts

my box of pictures and important papers

mchavez718 5 pts

After my family was safely outside, I would definitely be my ATM card because we are going to need money and a place to stay.

Clamo88 5 pts

first and foremost i would get out my family and pets and if time allowed i would grab all the pictures i could :)

susansmoaks1 5 pts

our external hard drive that has all the songs that we love so dearly on it.

of course that's only after we are all safely out of the house!

texasheartland 5 pts

I would save my family, and my pets. I've been through a house fire and lost everything, except my family but lost my pets and things. I don't want it to happen again.

susan1215 5 pts

First I would make sure my husband and children were out, then I would save my dog Daisy.

My dog Magoo!!

Lives. Nothing is more important. Things can be replaced, but people cant. (I dont have indoor pets)

IF I still had time after people/family were out I would grab my glasses so I could see-- and purse off the cupboard because of needing medical directives and replacing IDs and cards.

mommyto 5 pts

I would grab the baby books or pictures. I feel that everthing else can be replaced.

Helen126 5 pts

My daughter and grandson, and then KeKe and Heinz, my Siamese cats.

AngWint59 5 pts

Assuming that we (my family) knew there was a fire..... all were accounted for and safely outside......
THEN, if it were possible and the house was not totally engulfed in fire....

I would tote/drag out the ANTIQUE TRUNK!!!. It looks like something off an old stagecoach, sits in the living room behind the sofa, flanked with stacks of baskets/crates to give it that old rustic ambience.

It's not that heavy, has handles on each end.
Contents: Baby Albums of both our children, now 21 and 14 years old.
Those albums contain month by month comments, photos, measurements and lots of documentation that they have enjoyed reading on occassions. It also has a newspaper from the DAY they were born, they have sat down and read from front to back, their own personal newspaper detailing what was going on on that particular day of their birth.
Many other irreplaceable sentimental items belonging to our children reside in the TRUNK! Their first rattle, blankets embroidered with name/date on them, their bronzed baby shoes, a crib mobile used with both of them; it still plays music. Many "first" toys, animal cracker box, the outfit they wore when brought home from the hospital, etc.
These items may be just "stuff", but they are a one-of-a-kind "stuff". I, as their mother kept/protected/collected these items for a story telling history of their precious baby years, which I hope some of these items will be used by THEIR babies one day!!!

P.S. The other documents; S.S. cards, birth certificates, homeowners policies, auto insurance, medical cards, etc., are already in a fire-proof safe box. I also memorized all 4 of our S.S. #'s years ago.
That stuff can be replaced daily.

I regard the dog as a family memeber not a thing. I had to clarify as I felt guilty and she is looking at me funny right now!

I would grab the box of old photo albums. My oldest child has about 5 years of memories in pictures before we went digital. I cannot replace those and don't want to think about it. Maybe I should buy a safe for them...good idea thanks!

I'd have to run right for my external hard drive, where I've backed up every single digital photo or home movie file we've made, all of our work- and home finance-related documents, and our massive media collection. So much of our lives is on that device that so many of our memories would be lost if I couldn't rescue it!

Ardy22 5 pts

I WOULD SAVE MY FAMILY FIRST, PETS, AS MANY PICS AS POSSIBLE
