I ended up being a scientist (even though I thought that class was BORING), but that's not why it was most important. I met my husband in class and we had to work on an end of the year project together. We may never have become friends if not for that project almost 9 years ago.

It would be the class called Looking Toward Parenthood. I still have all my paperwork 35 years later.

I had a General Math class that taught me practical everyday math applications! Thanks! senekers@comcast.net

Through language, I developed an ability to see other points of view and to make sense of seemingly disparate themes. Hence, I believe that early exposure to a wide variety of viewpoints has helped me in my interpersonal encounters with others.

Typing because I use this skill every day!

PauleyD 5 pts

It's the only class that taught skills I still use to this day.

My accounting class was the most valuable. I never cared for school much and didn't like my classes until I took Accounting. I was actually interested in something! Because of that, I was able to have some drive and motivation when I was in college to get my degrees. And now it is paying off.

My favorite class was actually a work study class I had my senior year. I would leave school early to go work at a part time job. I worked at an advertising agency where I gained job experience and even got paid. It was my favorite becuase I was getting paid and getting credits at the same time.

It was sociology which became my college major.

I find myself repeating this constantly. Typing is definitely hands down (or fingers : ) the most valuable class I had in high school. In college I earned a good amount of cash typing term papers on a typewriter (late 80's : )

Lvpierson 5 pts

Seriously, I took a lot of 'college' classes that don't really help in real life. The most useful class I took was typing, I'm so happy I'm a super quick typist now, it really helps me every day!

No doubt, the most valuable class I took in high school was 10th grade English. The teacher relentlessly picked apart our writing and required us to justify the inclusion of every word! It made me a better writer and a success in high school, college and law school. Today, I still think of her when I'm writing and make sure that each word I select is honest and there for a reason.

Mine was Science.I met my hubby in that class 17 years ago :)
Thanks for the chance.

Uhh I'll say the Health Careers classes that I took. Although AP Biology was my favorite!

I was extremely shy and had problems even answering easy questions in class. I was determined to learn to speak up even when I was petrified.
I hated the class (because I was so scared) but it taught me a lot and I became an instructor for my company and spoke in front of groups as large as 400.

ladyt64 5 pts

was most valuable. We had a great teacher and some really interesting debates. I learned a lot in that class.

Nothing. I use nothing in my high school classes during my everyday work...

happishopr 5 pts

It gave me a love for words and reading.

Thanks for the giveaway!

My High School art class changed my life, I would have never known about my talents without it. My bachelors is in art, I'm a professional artist and I work in advertising - all started with a high school art class.

Although it wasn't my favorite by far, I would have to say math because it gave me the skills to go through life making good financial decisions based on knowledge. It just makes me sad when I see a young cashier unable to make change without the register telling them exactly what to do, and people who can't figure out what 30% off an item would be. When we were financing a car the person was trying to sell some garbled deal and I worked out the math and said no way, this would cost x amount more over the long haul. They were amazed I could figure that out. They also tried to sell us on the adjustable rate mortgage when we bought our first house, I was able to fully understand what a lethal choice that would have been (know a few people who lost houses over that mess).

susitravl 5 pts

I would not have been able to support myself all these years without it!

My professor taught me that a fair question is a question in which you don't already have an exptected answer, so when you ask your husband if he minds stopping on the way home to pick up milk, and he says no . . . it's not a fair question if you expect him to say yes. I use this in my marriage a lot! I dont assume my husband will answer how I want him to, but if he does, it's a bonus :)

English while not my most enjoyable class was my most important because I use it everyday, both while I'm talking and writing.

degood 5 pts

It was a class that taught how to write various business letters and resumes and cover letters and things like that. I learned quite a bit from that class that i have used in every job since high school.

The most valuable high school class I took was typing. It's helped me speed through a lot of assignments and helps me work a lot faster!

When I was in school I remember thinking shouldnt all of high school be about (parenting, finance, shopping and and how to take care of your home) I couldnt understand how my Chemistry classes were gonna help me later in life. Also math was good because I met my husband in my sophmore math class:)

I really don't know if any one class in high school was the most important. I guess more and more, though, I am glad I took spanish. I am not fluent but do at least have some knowledge of it.

was also fantastic! My teacher was excellent!

was a fabulous class and prepared me for college.

Computer science, because it helped me find what I loved!

I think Economics which i think we called Free Enterprise at the time. Should have taken typing but dropped it.

I took three (3) years of honor English and one (1) year AP. I enjoyed English so much that I have taken at least five (5) more classes (some for fun) while pursuing my degree, which is technical project management, go figure...

Even though I am far from being an English major, the subject has definitely inspired me to my creative heights (love literature) and shaped my romantic spirit (writing drama). It has even helped me in analyzing stats as it too involves a level of writing.

Believe it or not, the most valuable class I took in high school was typing!! :D

Although going to a college prep school afforded me phenomenal learning opportunities, the class where I learned how to type brought me income at a young age and continues to serve me very well as a professional blogger/web designer.

Who knew?

smitch01 5 pts

I knew nothing about computers when I was in high school. However I took a computer class and was really interested in them. I now work in the IT field and love it!

swisspotluck 5 pts

Probably typing. Followed by Consumer Economics, American Government, and Home Economics. But really almost everything ended up being useful.

My most valuable class in high school was my writing classes. I had a great teacher who pushed us hard so we were ready for college when we got there.

Child care. Our school had a small daycare and the students could help out for a grade. We got to play outside with them, help them fall asleep and teach them just like a regular daycare. Thanks for the giveaway!

I know it sounds silly ---but it gave me confidence---and celebrated my unique sense of style and taste.

Not especially for the content (although useful) but because I was the only freshman and the only girl in the class. I learned that I was smart and could hold my own in a difficult class. Thanks for the contest.

The things we learned really helped me as I was starting out on my own in the world.
