a really good pump! i thought i could get by with my single electric pump that was 70ish dollars.... barely six months in and I am wishing i just invested in a really good one to do the job!

For our second baby, I used the baby carrier all the time! My first son couldn't stand it, but thankfully our second boy loved it. We're expecting our fourth child through adoption next year, and I'll be using it again. :)

I like having a really good pillow. You'll need plenty of rest..which you won't get, but the pillow helps.

redfantum 5 pts

I used cloth diapers. With baby #2, disposable diapers and a diaper genie were absolutely necessary.

I have a large family and one item I have always appreciated having is a good frontal carrier. I especially like to use this when I am grocery shopping. Then, I don't have to worry about someone snatching my baby when I am looking for the best apples.

....different name than the first!!

If we had another baby, I would definitely want some kind of bouncer or activity chair when they're big enough. Also a comfortable carrier or sling, and I would like to try the newer real cloth diapers. They seem to be much better quality nowadays, softer and more leakproof covers.

Ask family members for a little help..you'll need it.

I haven't had baby #1 yet, but I think one of those nursing pillows would be a big comfort. I guess that's more for mom than baby though.

Nerve pills..lol You need new bottles and brushes, nipples, things like that.

A bouncy seat. I was able to get so much done when my first was in his bouncy seat.

If you didn't know, they work like a charm! Now, weaning from those is another story but I would take my chances!

Must have baby wipes at all times

ma04santos 5 pts

The second baby must have his own clothes, and not hand-me- downs from his brother or nephew. Well maybe just a couple of items.

What I should have had for baby #2 is a reminder every day to take pictures and document the important "milestones." Son #2 is always asking me where his baby pictures are.

I had to get an automatic swing which our baby loved and we loved too.

You think I am joking, but you'll find out differently. ;)

the Baby Trend Diaper Champ, which makes disposing of diapers a breeze since it accommodates regular trash bags. Thanks!

I had to have another breast friend pillow. It was the one thing I used constantly with both of my girls.

I love the activity centers, they are so cute and keep baby busy.

No baby #1 let alone baby #2 so I have no experience here. I would say that thrift stores and garage sales are your friends. With the second baby you know you don't have to have designer clothes at least until they are 6-years-old.

Thanks for the contest.

An easy to carry, light and comfy diaper bag is a must - - preferably backpack style!

Taminar 5 pts

Keep it just for Baby 2, so when he or she gets older, there'll be photos just of him or her. I think second and third kids feel left behind because they have to "share" all the photos (or don't have as many taken of them, because the novelty's worn off).

godan 5 pts

baby monitor is an absolute must

ccboobooy 5 pts

I think you'll need an extra diaper bag.

caj5150 5 pts

....clothes so he doesn't get all used clothes from his older brother!!

mickeyfan 5 pts

A total must...no matter how many you have!

ma04santos 5 pts

My first son got his raiders jersey, but when our second boy arrived, he wore his brothers.

The best thing to have is a clone of yourself, because you will be busier than ever and pulled a million directions at once. If it was a retail item, I would suggest a baby bouncer or excersaucer. That way, you will know the baby is safe if you have to set him/her down to maintain yourself, your oldest, or the house.

I had to have a basket for the baby to sleep in in the living room so that I could take care of my son, who was 2 at the time. Moses baskets were few and far between then, so we folded a crocheted blanket for a mat in a laundry basket. She was so tiny, she slept in it for almost 6 months!

ma04santos 5 pts

Usually the first baby you take pictures constantly, and when the second baby arrives you tend not to take that many. That's not fair:(

Griz 5 pts

You MUST have a baby swing. It will save your sanity. It will let you cook dinner without baby squalling in the background.

ajlanser 5 pts

This is great - I'm loving the help as my 2nd is on the way too!!!

I'm thinking good nursing bras this time - last time I tried for the Target brand and wasn't comfortable for a year!!!

hockiemack 5 pts

more play dates so I can have baby #1 occupied.

Kattx4 5 pts

For baby #2 to gift to baby #1 that says Big Sister...start their bond now!

ma04santos 5 pts

Always good to have extra highchair. You may need one for grandma's house.

ma04santos 5 pts

You always need more than one car seat. One for mom, one for dad and don't forget grandma:)

dewer421 5 pts

A bouncer or swing, so you can spend time with your other child!

autumn398 5 pts

We just actually had our second baby a month ago and I found that there isn't much you need new - except a car seat (if the 1st one is expired, which ours was), new pacis, and new diapers! We also found that there were things that we didn't have with our 1st that our 2nd loves, like swaddlig blankets!

js22 5 pts

I think the second child deserves something new just for them instead of just hand-me-downs. A couple new outfits would be nice.
