I insisted on just a plain silver band and, reluctantly, that's what he gave me. To me it says that our love is not about material things, isn't boastfull, and isn't traditional. Instead of owning an expensive piece of jewlery, my husband was able to take 6 months off work to be the "daddy daycare" for our 4-month old son. PRICELESS.

My husband came with 7 diamonds from his mother's rings. (His father died when Husband was 6 years old; and she eventually re-married.) Hmmm... what to do with those diamonds? An odd number, and different sizes. So we went to a jeweler where we designed our own rings. I like flowers, so we had a row of flowers on the engagement band with diamonds in the center of each. My wedding band has 3 little leaves, with the smallest diamonds embedded. After we got married, I had the 2 bands soldered together. I could show you a picture; but I don't know how to attach a picture to this form. After almost 32 years, I still get compliments all the time about this ring.

My engagement ring is a white gold band with a small diamond it is vintage and at least 60 or 70 years old maybe more. My wedding band is a simple titanium metal band with the inscription inside from my husband love never ending for all time~chris

We got married in the middle of a recession in 1958. The engagement ring is a very small center diamond with a chip on each side. The wedding band has 5 tiny chips across.

I wish I had a really nice diamond.

I was able to pick my own ring. I don't like solitaires with round or princess cut diamonds. I chose a white gold bridal set. It has a marquise cut center stone flanked by a cluster of 3 round stones on each side. Then it has two littler stones on each side after that. The wedding band has 13 little diamonds. I absolutely love it :)

Hubby and I chose a yellow gold anniversary band with 7 diamonds. I love it though many people don't consider it a "real" wedding ring. Phooey on them!

My ring has a diamond in the middle and three small diamonds on each side in a gold setting. My ring isn't extravagent but we have been married 21 years so it's a symbol of our commitment.

I wear two sets. When we got married I had my small solitaire oval but no wedding band, so I used a ring made from a nickel my hubby made. Then I got my band which was a design of loops. Years later I got a large oval with side diamonds and then a few years ago I got a new wedding band with diamonds. I wear both sets and will be married 35 years this year.

I'm not engaged or married...but I'll update you if that changes!

we used the money we would have spent on a ring and got Central Air Conditioning for the house we had bought.

Mine is a simple ring. We decided to get married about 3 weeks before the wedding and had to pay for it ourselves...nothing big but I still love it after 16 years...=)

My wedding band is by Artcarved. It's gold on the outer edges, and it's got diagonal stripes alternating silver, gold and copper colors. My engagement ring is a 3/8 carat diamond solitaire with a six-prong silver setting.

a thin silver band, nothing fancy - not really into gold

My engagement ring is a round cut solitaire, and my wedding band has two smaller round cut diamonds that 'hug' the solitaire. The bands are white gold and the total weight of the diamonds is just under one carat. Simple and classic is what I hoped for, and my husband chose well IMO! ;)

wife my grandmother's wedding ring, which is quite simple with a celtic design on the band.

My Diamond just fell out of my engagement ring..boo hoo! It was a solitaire surrounded by a row of baguette's down each side of the band and the wedding band has a curve to fit the shape of the ring. My ring is gold.

I don't have an engagement or a wedding ring. But if I had to choose one it would be plain platinum.

We eloped and didn't have rings on our wedding day. I saw a ring I liked in a magazine and took it to a jeweler to modify the design. We got to choose all the diamonds and the metals. The jeweler made a wax mold first. It was fun to be part of the process and see it all come together. I stare at my ring all the time.

is a gold band with one little diamond in it. I've been wearing it for 28 years and I wouldn't part with it for anything.

My engagement ring is white gold solitaire with a 1.5 ct round brlliant diamond center stone.

My husband and I have matching wedding rings in platinum with a band of gold in the middle of the ring. Very simple and understated--I love mine.

I took it to a jeweler to have it made smaller and he loved it. Said it was unique. It is platinum with a raised ruby..diamonds on the side and a matching band of diamonds.

I just love it because it was Grandma and Grandpa's.

I loved my wedding ring, it had three diamonds that shined beautifully. It took ten years to get before we could afford it. then little over a year ago our house was robbed and they took my ring. I now wear a silver ring with a mexican opal that I bought on our holiday to Mexico. I am not going to replace my diamond, just not the same.
