"My name is Erica and I was born and raised in Colombia but now live in the Northeastern United States with my American husband and family. I enjoy watching cooking shows, reading recipe books and I absolutely love to cook! In February 2009, I started mycolombianrecipes.com, which was inspired by my grandmother, Mamita, who was an amazing traditional Colombian cook."

"Cooking traditional Colombian food connects me to my culture and allows me to share my heritage with my American family. My hope is that people from other countries discover Colombian food and learn more about our culture and traditions."

Erica's favorite cookie recipe is for Alfajores.

Filled with arequipe or dulce de leche caramel and rolled in shredded coconut, these treats are a Colombian (and Erica's) favorite.
