Over at www.salary.com, they've conducted their version of the yearly salary for a stay-at-home Mom. After calculating the hours a Mom puts in each week for such things as cleaning, laundry services, facilities manager, van driving services, and top chef (to list only a few), they came up with a yearly salary of $ 122,732.

Now, I've been thinking about this, and I figure that after taxes, unemployment insurance, and health/dental/vision premiums, the take home pay for such a job would probably average out to about $ 77,321 annually, or about $ 1,500 per week.

If you calculate the annual salary WITHOUT economic factors such as annual increases, inflation, etc., then the amount owed a stay-at-home Mom is this:

$ 77,321 (per year) X  21 years (give or take a few)= $ 1,623,741

When we take into consideration all the money that Mom spends from the supposed income, we come to the conclusion that we could never pay her enough.

Here's my interpretation of all those figures:

Laundry services: $ 3,620

Executive Chef: $ 8,944

Psychologist: $ 13,321

Having a Mom who loves you and is willing to do all of those things for free:

PRICELESS
