Blogger and freelance writer Vanessa Chang is usually found in one of the following places: Sitting at her computer (sometimes pulling her hair), standing at the stove, tending a pitiful container garden, perched in a sunny spot like an iguana or dodging her mother’s pleas to go to law school. She blogs at she craves.

She Craves hot chocolate

The weather inspired Vanessa to whip up this Homemade Drinking Chocolate, Courtesy of a Blizzard and Lazy Disposition:

"So much for the promise of spring. After a couple of days of relative warmth and sun, it's coming down like a snowglobe outside. Driving would be suicidal considering my neighborhood rests at the top of a hill. The place where I'd like to go to get some hot chocolate conveniently at the bottom of said hill. I don't want it that much. Wait. I lied. I so do. Luckily, there's a pantry to raid. Thank god for those random bits of chocolate scattered at the bottom of the Ziploc storage bag."

What a fun photo of Vanessa cooking. I remember this hot chocolate post; wish I had some right now.

There is nothing better than hot chocolate in the winter. I love white chocolate and with the feet of snow we have had this year I have stayed home in my pjs and enjoyed my share of chocolate drinks.

that as glorious and jealous-makingly sunny and wonderful as the weather in California is this week ... I am waiting for a storm so I can make this. I want it NOW!

Do share your recipe, Julie!

I make drinking chocolate about once a month. My recipe is so high in fat that the neighborhood almost tips over when I make it at my house!
