20 Things 20-Somethings Should Keep In Mind

Now that my 20s have come and gone I realize a lot of things I knew, but many more things I wish someone had told me. I decided to put together a list for the new 20-somethings making their way in the world.

When it comes to money:

1.Budgeting- Set a budget and stick to it! You'll be glad you did

2. Stay away from credit cards...they are the DEVIL! (that's why you have a budget!)

3. Your college degree shouldn't cost more than you're earning potential. Why spend $100K for a degree to get a job that tops out at $50K? College is an investment, make sure you get good ROI

4.The bank of Mom and Dad will one day close its doors. Be prepared

5. Would you rather have a luxury carin your 20s or retire in your 40s? Don't get caught up in material things

 When it comes to career:

6. No matter what you plan to do after college, take some business courses. They will come in handy

7.You rarely get a second chance to make a first impression. You never know who's watching so always behave as if your mother's watching

8. Operate with a plan and purpose, but don't be afraid to change it

9. Network, network, network. It really is more about who you know these days

10. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. The success of you and your friends may not come at the same time. There's no need to panic if it's taking longer than expected
