2013 Oscars Fashion Recap & Poll: Best Dressed, Worst Dressed, & Everything in Between

Finally, the Oscars -- THE award show of awards show season -- came and went, and with mixed reviews. Though it seemed like the same movies along with the same actors were nominated for every single category, the 85th Academy Awards show was actually quite entertaining. I'm not sure if I loved the A-listers acting as the entertainment for the evening, dancing and singing in their own wild numbers, but it is a show for them and their craft, so why not?
But let's get to the most important aspect of the night: what they were wearing and who wore it best, worst, and everything in between.
I think Naomi Watts had my favorite dress of the night, but Halle Berry came in a close second. Charlize Theron looked ravishing, even if she does have my husband's haircut, she's pulling it off splendidly and made my "utterly amazing" list as well as the two above. Anne Hathaway, on the other hand, was less than spectacular, and not pulling off that boy cut so well. The darts in her dress, along with the pale color, made it appear like she was "freezing cold" all night long, and unfortunately read on camera as a plain bridesmaid's dress. I think if it were in a deep emerald green, it would have been stunning.
Though there were tons of gold gowns, long sleeves, retro-styled bustier bodices, and sequins, and mostly everyone looked beautiful, I thought I'd switch it up this time. We've already gone through some 2013 awards season trends a few times with my Grammy looks by style, and Golden Globes looks by style, so for the Oscars, I've simply created three easy categories each has fallen into: Best Dressed, Just Okay, and Worst Dressed. Flip through this slideshow below to see who made the lists.
