3 Frugal Meals
1-2 lbs of ground hamburger meat or ground turkey cooked
3 cans of kidney beans drained
1 onion or celery or green pepper chopped or onion and green pepper
3 tbls of chili powder
1 tbls of hot sauce
2 tbls of woreschire sauce
3 cans of tomatoes any kind you have in your pantry (these can be diced, stewed or chopped
1-2 cans of tomato sauce
put in crockpot on low 6-8 hours or high 4-6 hours.
I use stuff I have sometimes I will throw in chili beans instead of kidney beans, or i will put in a can of green chilies, the thing is to use the stuff you already have.
this is what I make with the left over chili the next day.
left over chili
any kind of pasta 8 oz
1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
cook pasta drain. put chili and pasta in a casserole dish mix together sprinkle top with cheese bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes. You can use green pepper or onion in this also chop it up and add to it before cooking.
I also on the 3rd day if there is Chili left over make chili chees hotdogs.
This is my most frugal meal as I always get at least 2 nights worth of dinners from one meal, the chili only costs about 10 dollars to make that is using 90/10 ground sirloin at 1 to 1/12lbs. I buy the generic chili powder at Aldi's or Wal-Mart usually under 1 dollar. For 10 dollars I get 3 meals usually.
