3 Kitchen Finds That Can Transform Your Hair

How many times have you found a "natural" hair product that advertises exotic fruits and extracts on the cover but turn out to be 80 percent chemicals? More than you can count I am sure. Luckily, you don't have to go very far to get the health that your hair is begging for-- it also is a lot cheaper.

It turns out that your kitchen is a hub for great natural hair care that is completely under your control. Here are three shine boosting, moisturizing, and curl enhancing kitchen items that can transform your coils.

1. Honey: It's not just for your tea and baklava anymore. Honey is a natural humectant which means it brings in the moisture from the air to your curls all-day-long. So long crispy kinks. You can mix 1/4 of a cup of honey into your hair conditioner to pump up the moisture. Be sure to wash it out thoroughly though to avoid bringing all the beeeees to the yard!

2. Apple cider vinegar: This little gem has a pungent smell and powerful scalp cleansing properties. Apple cider vinegar helps to bring the pH balance of your scalp back to normal to help promote hair growth and wipe out scalp build up. You will literally feel the dirt dissolving out of your hair. It is disgustingly rewarding! To use this, you can mix equal parts vinegar and water and rinse your hair with it before conditioning and after washing.

3. Olive oil: Can you say SHINE? Don't worry; you don't need to be able to say it to get it. Olive oil is light so it doesn't weigh your hair down and gives your curls unbelievable long lasting shine. This oil is great for hot oil treatments, in your shampoo, and conditioner. Your hair will sop it up faster than you can say--- SHINE!
