4 Tips for a Fun & Festive Gluten-Free Gathering

4 Tips for a Fun & Festive Gluten-Free Gathering

Entertaining doesn’t have to be complicated and stressful, even when you’re on a special diet. In fact, there are so many wonderful naturally gluten-free foods to choose from, you – or your guests – won’t miss a thing!

Use these four tips to ensure your next gluten-free gathering is relaxing for everyone, hostess included!

 4 Tips for a Fun & Festive Gluten-Free Gathering

1. Basics.

Keep the menu simple with naturally gluten-free foods. Everyone enjoys dips like hummusguacamole and salsa. Pair these quick fix apps with a beautiful bowl of great tasting gluten-free tortilla crisps like Xochitl organic chips.

For smaller get-togethers, serve dips in individual bowls like these small Ruffle bowls, my current favorite appetizer bowl.

2. Balance.

Add food elements that balance one another in terms of macronutrients – healthy fats (for example, avocado), protein options (plant or animal based) and complex carbohydrates (like a fresh cut veggie tray or fresh fruit salad).

Homemade hummus is a terrific way to add a bit of plant-based protein to the menu.

3. Beverages.

While cocktails are great to offer, always be sure to offer non-alcoholic options, too. Sparkling water like Perrier or San Pellegrino are terrific to have on hand, and they’re versatile, too. Some guests will enjoy them “as-is” and others can use them to brighten up an alcoholic cocktail or for making a wine spritzer. Effervescent herbal water is one of my favorite all-natural beverages to serve guests in the summer months. Give Ayala’s Herbal Water a try in Ginger-Lemon Peel for a bright, festive sipper!

4. Beauty.

A visually pleasing table is a must for parties – and for every  meal, in my opinion. Food should be fun, lively and lovely, as well as delicious. My favorite way to enhance my food is with affordable tableware from Q Squared NYC. There is truly a design for everyone and for every occasion. Some of my current favorites for summer entertaining are the Zen andRuffle collections.
