Well I am new to this blogging stuff but I always have something to comment on and for the most part I consider myself pretty enlightened and smart. Unfortunately I like many other women have made stupid choices and so here I am a 40 somethingish mother of three and a granny to boot, getting ready for takeoff to pursue MY dreams. Most of my adult life I have had to do what was necessary to just make it and I am still there living paycheck to paycheck. I am not playing the role of the victim, I know that I made choices that I and unfortunately my children have had to suffer through, but that ok, cause I have gained so much knowledge, wisdom that I would never have been able to receive if I hadn't been humbled. I use to think of myself as better than some, and now well since I've been knocked off my little pedestal and kicked in the ass a few times I am honestly better equipped than most to handle whatever curveball comes my way. There I go with the better than stuff....I have been watching the news filled with people who have lost their homes, their jobs and do not know where to turn for help. I have empathy for them I've been homeless and hungry, and I worked. Scary isn't it that we can live in a country where you can work full time but still qualify for welfare, medical benefits at my job cost me too much to have, and I belong to a union. So I decided to return to college, the field I want to get into is clinical social work, not high paying but decent when you consider my income was 16,000 dollars last year. I am on the brink of greatness and I hope that I meet and network with all the others who are there too!
40 something starting life over!!!!
