5 Best Beauty Trends For Spring 2012

Syndicated

Hey Gals! Having covered many shows at the tents during New York Fashion Week, I get to see all the new trends first.  This time around, we have some super clean and classic looks that are all easy to get at home!

Red Lips This trend never goes out of style - the only difference this year is the texture.  Backstage, the makeup artists are mixing a few finishes of lipcolor together to achive the look they want which is sheer.  You can get that same look at home with CoverGirl Lip Perfection lipstick in Flame or Hot.  It has Beautiful, rich color and a patented Silk Moisturizing Complex that keeps lips moist without drying them out. The lipstick formula is lighteweight yet silky which is a win/win dolls!!  Another option if you like something glossier is Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick in Continuous Cranberry. This one is a lightweight, glossy formula that has 14 hour staying power.  It stays fresh, light, and comfortable which is great for a long wearing lipstick!

Cat Eyes This is another trend that never goes out of style!  The cat eye in one incarnation or another has been around since Cleopatra ruled Egypt.  The new cat eye is sleek, modern and slightly upturned.  If you are anything like me, you may not have the steadiest of hands when it comes to "winging it" with your liner.  Never fear, there are some new liner PENS at every price point that will help bring out your inner catwoman.  I like Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen and Lancome Artliner.

Sporty Cheeks  Models waltzed down the runway looking like they had been on safari at several shows. The look is athletic, natural and bronzy.  To mimic the look at home, use a cheekstain in a peachy-pink tone on the apples of your cheeks and your favorite bronzer on top.  Try Sephora Lush Flush Lip & Cheek Stain & Urban Decay Baked Bronzer. The trick is to put the stain on first on the apples of your cheeks then place the bronzer all over so it looks like a glow.

Colorfully Tipped Manicure Instead of traditional white, take your favorite shade of polish and add gold to the tips or better yet black or a contrasting shade.  Your manicure will stand out and who doesn't like to be original? Try Zoya Goldie or Zoya Raven on your tips.

Strong Brows Backstage was all a buzz with brows!  Gone are the super thin, overly tweezed brows of years past.  The strong brow is back and better than ever!  If your brows are sparse then you can fill them in with pencil or powder.  I like Benefit Brow Zings
