52% of Teens Have Admitted To Giving Out Personal Information to Strangers Online

June is National Internet Safety Month and I happened to run accross an article about McAfee's recent survey, there's some pretty shocking statistics about kids and teens use of the internet

A recent survey conducted by security technology company McAfee, Inc. and Harris Interactive found that 52 percent of teens have admitted to giving out personal information to someone online they did not know and 16 percent of kids and teens admit they have private e-mail addresses or social networking profiles to hide what they do online from their parents.

As a parent, how do you keep a balance between respecting your child's privacy and ensuring they are not endangering themselves?
