I once met a inspirational girl in the juvenile justice system here in Australia. The things she experienced in her life and like many others inspired me to write this piece. It is so easy to ignore the bad things that go on in our world but if your the one going through it then it a whole different story. A child needs a person to influence there life not abuse it.

 

She carries naked wounds

From a very troubled past

She carries the scars

When her heart was torn apart

She carries the memories

That was never meant to be

It wasn't her fault

Someone had already choose her destiny

 

You've had to fight a battle

And win a war on your own

Faced evil demons

And still you have grown

Grown to a girl

That should have never been neglected

There so much about u

That should be respected

 

And after ten years of hers to date

She's had to come to terms

With her own fate

She's been used and abused

For a long part of her life

But she still goes on

And continues to fight

Fight for the right

She has a place on this earth

To be some thing, not nothing

She has plenty of worth

 

Worth a lot more

Than the naked eye can see

Her beauty runs so deep

As deep as the sea

And when she smiles

She can shine as bright as the sun

Happiness is her healer

Because then she becomes one

One with her self

And one with her past

Finally she can forget

Where it all began last

You have more strength and power

Than you'll ever know

To go on as you have

You're the real hero

A hero to the girls

That have been through struggle

A hero to us all

That have had to deal wit the trouble

Girl you are an inspiration to me

You hold so much hope

And you make me believe

Believe that we should always be strong

 

To go on

Not look back

Its time for us to belong
