Accent Table with Wood Filler Top
By interiorsalvage on February 18, 2014
This little table was in awful shape when I found it.
I stripped the wood veneer top and covered it with several layers of wood putty. After curing for a few weeks I sanded the top and edges until they were smooth. To give the top some color I wipe on Minwax stain in chestnut and then wiped it off. I layered three coats of stain which were wiped off to create a glaze like finish. Finally I finished the whole thing with Miss Mustard Seed Clear wax and buffed to a nice mellow sheen.
What I really love about it is the the little secret drawer. The drawer was missing and had to be replaced. A nice place to tuck a secret note or key!
