alex the cat needs relationship advice
By feelingbeachie on March 27, 2011
It is me, Alex, the cat. I need advice. Let me rephrase that, I need advice big time, and my parents aren’t being any help – surprise, surprise!
In case you didn’t know, I have found a perfect girl, Gracie. I met her on the internet! She is everything that a cat could want. She is fun, playful, sweet, and pretty.
We had our first date over three months ago….
In the time since, we have spent a lot of time together getting to know one another better. The more I get to know her, the more perfect I think she is. When I get an email from Gracie I get so excited! I think she feels the same way about when I email her.
Gracie and I have a lot of fun together, and when I don’t hear from her, or get to spend time with her, I really miss her. A lot…. To borrow an old time phrase, I think she is the cat’s pajamas (although I never understood that one – we don’t wear pj’s).
Ok, back to my problem. Like I said, I am crazy about Gracie. I like her so much. Okay, I MORE than like her so much. I think I may even L-O-V-E her. I wanted to tell her this last night when we were hanging out by the fire, but preverbal cat got my tongue (that one I understand!). The purrs could just not come out of my mouth.
I became scared. I didn’t know if it was it too soon to say this? I don’t want her to think I am coming on to strong. I would hate for her to think this was the first step to me being stalker worthy, because that is the last thing that I would ever do. I also was afraid of what would happen if she didn’t feel the same way… What would happen then????
She sure seems to like me a lot, but taking it to the next level is a big step. I am so confused. My mom and dad both are telling me not to worry. “Take one day at a time, and see where it goes,” they say. My mom also tells me, “When the time is right, you will know.” How is that I ask you?? My dad even likes to quote Led Zeppelin lyrics to me, “you will be mine, by taking our time.” What is he trying to say? I am a cat, not a music / English major?
So, if any one has any advice for a love struck cat……I would greatly appreciate it.
