I don't know where all of you guys live, but here in Washington DC it is hot. I'm not exaggerating either, I got in my car the other day and my thermometer said it was 99 degrees outside. Hopefully it isn't quite as warm where you are and you can get outside and enjoy your summer.

If you live somewhere where it is nice outside this time of year I've got some great ideas for you.

June 14th is Croquet Day - that is tomorrow people. Get out there and play croquet. What? You've never played? Now is a great time to try. I'm fairly sure I spotted an inexpensive croqet set at Target the other day. You know you have to there anyway.

June 21st is Go Skateboarding Day. This could be fun for the whole family. If you are my age you can re-live your Jr. High days. If you are younger than me you can see how well playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on your playstation for six weeks straight translates into real skateboarding in real life.

If you are anywhere near St. Albans you can check out the Girl Skate Jam at Pioneer Park tomorrow.

If it really is unbearably hot try working out in the water

And if you are into more traditional ways to get your exercise in this summer please make sure you stay hydrated or you could end up like MCM Mama :

Yesterday, I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and was absolutely soaked.
Today I ran three miles outside and threw up in my front yard at the
end of the run. Boy do I know how to party...

What great ideas do you ladies have for summer activities?

I love to workout in the  summer, I love to sweat when I'm working out and it's easy to do when the temp is 100 dpegrees.  Sometimes it does get a bit unbearable, and I think that might be why gym memberships are a good idea.  This summer I bought the whole family a membership so we could workout, play basketball or swim when it worked into our schedule.

I did discover Wii fitt this summer! I didn't think I would like it, but tried it because so many of my friends enjoyed it.  I ended up loving it.  On those really hot rainy days here in South Texas it's a great way to get in a fun workout.
