The catch phrase of every American administration is, "We spend more money on health care, education, and the military than any other country in the world, and our social systems are failing.”
What’s the matter with America? She is fighting for her soul. She can’t walk her talk. Other industrialized nations have left her behind. And third world countries are catching up due to the advent of globalization.
President Obama will tackle education in the near future and so I recommend the book, "The Silent Crisis Destroying America’s Brightest Minds." The book was chosen as "Book of the Month" by the Alma Public Library in Wisconsin. An education book has never earned this distinction.
This book is brutally honest and the truth is ugly. But no pain, no gain.
Even the New York Times is under reporting the magnitude of the education problem. America’s education system is in the toilet literally and figuratively.
Even the brightest among us have learned how to cut corners and cheat to survive and graduate. The best schools have the highest suicide rates.
America is building more prisons and turning her best schools into prisons
with metal detectors.
It can take five-twenty doctors to get the right diagnosis because American
medical students don’t achieve mastery of the academic material.
The rising rates of school violence, bogus bomb scares, and binge-drinking and suicidal students are appalling.
America’s students are disconnected, depressed, distracted, disgruntled, disillusioned, and disobedient. Students will earn a diploma, but not an education.
“I now understand how the malfunctioning education system destroyed my child’s self-esteem. There are many very bright kids in the same predicament. The brightest are struggling to survive.”
This education book bears the light with viable solutions to all hot button issues in education. An American classic is born.
