Andy Warhol, Rosemary Duck, and Self Improvement

Today I read back through some old blog posts and wanted to check in on goals I set for 2014. We’re already into March, for crying out loud! Anyhow, my last check-in was here:

I am quite happy with how well I have done meeting at least some of these goals:

1)      EXPLORE –

a)     While this doesn’t qualify as local, Chloe and I DID visit Crystal Bridges Museum of Art in Bentonville, Arkansas while we were in town for a college and mother-in-law visit. What an incredible museum – the NW Arkansas setting is breathtaking as always, and the architecture and grounds are simply fabulous. More than that, though, the collection of mostly American art is quite impressive and admission is FREE. Among many other pieces, we saw pieces by Warhol, Liechtenstein, and O’Keefe. When we left the museum, I realized I only took one photo. I’m not exaggerating – my senses were in complete overload at the stunning facilities, surroundings, AND artwork that I forgot to take pictures except for this one shot of the pond in the middle of the museum’s galleries. There was still a partial layer of ice atop much of the water.
