Today we're excited to announce the agenda for BlogHer Food '14! The Call for Ideas closed a few weeks ago, and once again, this amazing community of food writers, creators, and lovers didn't fail to impress! We've sorted through the hundreds of scrumptious submissions and created a program that will be a feast for the senses, the soul, your website, and your business.
All in an environment where you can network with fellow bloggers, photographers, authors, chefs, and brand representatives, who are all invested (and investing!) in the future of food blogging. Tickets for BlogHer Food '14 are capped at 500, so register today (they make great Christmas gifts for your favorite food bloggers!), and keep reading to learn what's on the menu this May in Miami.
We're excited to announce our first Innovator Interview today -- welcoming chef, author, and BlogHer member David Lebovitz back to our stage for the first time since 2009. David is undoubtedly one of the most successful food creatives we know, able to speak authoritatively about how to build and sustain a thriving community and career. But he also has a lot to say about what he has learned about feeding his soul. Discover how he balances both in a one-on-one interview with BlogHer Co-founder Elisa Camahort Page to close day one.
BlogHer Food's breakout programming will feature diverse formats, to cater to different learning styles. You'll be treated to deep-dive Intensives, intimate Small Group Workshops, provocative Panel Discussions, real-time In-Kitchen Demos, and inspiring Keynote discussions featuring some of the most respected names in food blogging and up-and-coming movers and shakers in this space.
Friday morning opens with Lightning Lessons -- fast talks sharing top tips on core business strengths and strategies.
Friday's lunch keynote will unveil how you can be your audience's superhero! Hear the latest research on the power of superfoods to change the health destiny of America, and how some of your favorite bloggers are integrating this information into their offerings.
After lunch, we split off into three different tracks of programming: learn from a diverse panel of bloggers about effective ways to transform your online work into an actual sellable product line, or join an intensive on unleashing your creativity on your blog, or spend some time in the kitchen with pie, pie, and more pie. Did we mention pie?
After a short break with our event sponsors, Friday afternoon continues with another round of programming, including a panel discussion with bloggers who have taken their food careers to the next level by up-leveling their education, an intensive on best practices for video that will get you producing your best work, and the only kitchen demo that could possibly follow 90 entire minutes of pieapalooza -- everything cheese!
Saturday kicks off with a discussion of what's coming next for food bloggers and our new best friend, Pinterest and then continues with breakouts. Get inspired by a panel on how to turn your food ethics into tangible action, take a deep dive into community building and engagement on Facebook and Pinterest, or join local Miami food bloggers for a kitchen demo of how to create the smells and tastes of this culturally and culinaryily rich community.
We'll continue exploring the sights and sounds of Miami during our lunch excursion, and then regroup in the afternoon for small group workshops. It's the perfect format to get the hands-on help you need to make the most of the advice you've gotten so far, from on-camera training to taking better pictures to WordPress site optimization to selling more books, and more! If you're interested in learning how to cook more inclusively, you can head over to the kitchen demo area where you'll learn insider secrets about recipe substitutions that accommodate food restrictions and allergies.
After another break with our sponsors, BlogHer Food's program wraps up with a lively and insightful keynote conversation about (and between) brands and bloggers.
