Today we are excited to get started on BlogHer Business '10 programming by announcing our annual call for ideas!

This post will describe:

1. What is the BlogHer Business '10 programming timeline?
2. What is our call for ideas and what kind of suggestions are we looking for?
3. How do I send in my suggestions?

Here goes:

1. What is the BlogHer Business '10 programming timeline?

Here is our basic timeline for choosing and publishing the BlogHer Business '10 publishing schedule:

01/04/10-01/31/10: Call for ideas is open
by 03/31/10: Programming schedule of BlogHer Business '10 is published

2. What is the BlogHer call for ideas, and what kind of suggestions are we looking for?

If you're new to BlogHer, you might wonder why we call this a "call for ideas" and not a "call for speakers" or "call for proposals" or something like that?

Answer: Because BlogHers are a generous bunch, and there are plenty of you who like to recommend other people to speak and want to suggest panels you'd like to attend, not necessarily speak on. And we're are all for that...any idea is welcomed, collected and reviewed by real, live humans :)

We are specifically looking for sessions and speaker ideas, suggestions and proposals that would fall into one of the following two programming segments:

Morning segment: Social Media Case Studies:

The morning of August 5th will be spent exploring rapid-fire social media case studies. A brand, agency or consultant may submit a case study, but we do have three criteria:

1. A brand representative must be able to join the presentation of the case study
2. The brand must be willing to share quantifiable results
3. Case studies that can also include the point of view and live participation of a blogger or online community member who participated in the campaign being presented will be given preference

Afternoon segment: Interactive Panel Discussions Exploring Best Practices:

The afternoon of August 5th will be reserved for interactive panels that explore best practices in social media participation, engagement, ethics, measurement, outreach, strategy and tactics. Yes, it's a broad description, because we are open to any ideas you have about the hot topics in using spcial media as part of your business practice.

3. How do I send in my suggestions?

Those are the two programming tracks, so if that triggers some great ideas, then this year please visit our BlogHer Business '10 Call For Ideas Submission Form and fill it in, in as much detail as you want.

Just remember: We are as happy to receive suggestions about sessions you'd like to attend, and speakers you'd like to hear from, as we are to hear about why you want to present yourself.

We're open to get your ideas starting now, and you have one month to do so. Can't wait to dig in!
