Announcing the BlogHer Community Keynote Selections
by Elisa Camahort

Yes, just under the wire, I am here to announce the BlogHer Community Keynote line-up.

What to say about an idea that prompted hundreds of posts to come flooding in?

How about: We better do this again!

And how about: A heartfelt thanks to our selection committee:

Alice from finslippy
Debbie from Body Impolitic
Heather from NoPasaNada
Jessica from Oh the Joys!
Mona from Kirida

And, of course, the woman who proposed the idea in the first place, Eden Kennedy from Fussy.

And how about: We all couldn't stop talking about how tough the job was, what an embarrassment of riches were laid out before us, and when we could do it again!

So, without further ado, your Community Keynote will feature:

Amazing writers. And a huge thank you to
    Fussy and the judges

Mrs. Kennedy, thank you -- this is an idea you've had for a couple of years and I'm really looking forward to lurking IN PERSON for once as these fantastic writers let 'er rip at the microphone. Bravo!

And THANK YOU to the judges -- I know how difficult some of these choices must have been.

    I was too busy reading

I was too busy reading the posts in my section to even remotely think about submitting. Furthest thing from my mind. So this is a huge and very cool surprise. Now I just have to forget the fact that speaking public causes me to vomit. Should be fun!

    Oh My Goodness!

Wow! BlogHer '08 hasn't even started and I already feel like it's a big hit.

I'm more than flattered by this very nice surprise, but be warned---there's a shameless ham inside me just crying to get out.

Thanks, I think, for giving her a chance!

It will indeed be strange to hear the words and see the expressions on the faces belonging to the words I've read for so long.

    Aiiieeeee!

AMSOEXCITEDAMSOEXCITEDAMSOEXCITED. And I'm in SUCH good company!! Thank you!

    What she said!

Definitely. As I told Elisa, I'm in Myrtle Beach, where wireless is virtually nonexistent, so didn't get the news til this a.m. at the coffee shop. All of the retired golfing men were taken aback by the outburst from the girl in the corner. ; )

See y'all in a week and change.

I am thrilled beyond belief to be included on this list. I can firmly say I will not be vomiting at the event. However, I just might faint and fall face first into a puddle of someone else's vomit... I'm looking forward to meeting you all! Thanks again for this amazing opportunity!

I don't know if I've ever been so sad that I WON'T be going.  Best rant featuring Heather Barmore AND Mr. Lady?  That will by just one more unfulfilled dream to add to my list.  Of all weekends, I picked that one to hostess a charity event...in Ohio.  Sweet.

This is why I love being a GIRL!

This has to be one of the coolest things ever!

Bravo Blogher!   Cheers to the women who were chosen!  Thanks for holding it down for all of us!

    Is this a Rick Roll?

Day-um.  I can't wait.  The tea I drink to prepare my vocal cords for reading (it's called Lemon Verbena Mescaline, I think it's a Yogi Tea brand) keeps me pretty calm, so I'm hoping I get to go first.  I can't imagine following any of these divine women! Not to mention to possibilities of a damp microphone.

Thank you Mrs. Kennedy, Ms. Alice and all of the Hers. So, so, so kind.

    Also, hell, yeah, Eden!

And a big ooh-rah for Mrs. Kennedy, who is always thinking about everyone else and how to get their voices heard.  I really admire that.

    I concur

I concur with all the above comments regarding the gratitude to you organizers for the idea itself, and for the honor of being a part of it, and the awe at the company I find myself in.  On whose shoes I fear my hurl will find itself. (Apologies in advance. Though evidently I won't be the first, nor the last.  A veritable ralph-fest, it seems.  Strangely comforting.)

    Great, great keynote

Thanks for a great keynote, everybody! I am in awe of every single one of you.

this was a really great part of BlogHer...

    Thanks, thanks, thanks

It was one of the most fun things I have ever done. The posts were so well curated - such a nice variety of experiences - laughter, tears, serious, fun, completely nuts...

    I can't wait to see next year's.

Was there a recording and is it posted anywhere?

Yes, I Have Started Posting Video of the
    Keynoters

I'm still getting over the post conference BlogHer Virus - Summer Cold so I'm hacking, sleeping and uploading. I have three of them up and will try to move more of them online this weekend.
