Announcing BlogHer Food '10, October 8-9 in San Francisco

Today, I'm thrilled to announce the dates and venue for BlogHer Food '10, our second annual food blogging conference!

BlogHer Food will take place on October 8th and 9th at the beautiful Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA.

So, to anticipate your immediate questions:

1. Yes, you heard that right, the conference is expanding to two days! There were just so many great ideas for sessions and workshops and panels, and not enough hours in the one day to accommodate them all. So, we're going to model BlogHer Food after the annual conference and convene on both Friday and Saturday.

2. Yes, you can register right now. Registration is open. You can sign up for one or both days. Like last year we do anticipate selling out quickly. We are doubling the duration of the conference, but not growing the capacity by much.

3. Yes, we are returning to San Francisco. This is similar to how our annual conference was in the Bay Area for the first two years while we worked on getting the format and model just right...and then we hit the road.

4. The Palace is an exquisite venue for a conference...and an expensive place to spend the night. Luckily, San Francisco has hotels of almost every size and style within a short distance of the Palace. Stay tuned for a hotel map that will provide additional (and more economical) lodging options for attendees traveling to San Francisco for BlogHer Food '10.

We're very excited to bring back BlogHer Food after a fantastic inaugural event! Please tell us what you think, and what you would most like to see there.

If you're new to blogging, attending the main BlogHer conference is the way to go since you'll learn so main and gain a lot of knowledge of blogging and social media in general. Next year you should try going to BlogHer Food to improve your food blogging.

OK, I just signed up at BlogHer and saw the conference in NYC. I about jumped out of my seat with excitment. But then I saw the BlogHer Food Conference in SFO, and I about choked on my coffee! I would LOVE to do both, but my hubs will probably protest. So I have to choose one. Which one is best for a new-ish blogger, with a couple blogs (one food, one fitness) in need of some help? Now if it matters, I post on the food blog much more frequently.

I went to my first Food Bloggers dinner last night (in Brisbane, Australia) and am very motivated to start a food blog - will definitely try and get to BlogHer Food - I heard a lot of great stuff about it last year! Will be a great excuse for a holiday as I love San Francisco!

- we're definitely going. AIEEEE! So excited! I haven't been to San Fran since I lived there over 10 years ago. O nostalgia.

I'm also curious about the volunteering possibility.

I had such an amazing time at BlogHer Food '09 and I can't wait for next October. The programming was amazing, the food photography tips were wonderful. I loved how intimate the conference was and can't wait for more.

Lunch at the Ferry Building again everyone????

Hi Katy:

Because this is a smaller event and local to our main HQ, we don't end up requiring many volunteers vs. our annual event. We may put out a small call for volunteers, probably in April or so.

Wondering if you'll be needing volunteers at BlogHer Food, like you're recruiting for BlogHer '10?

Aww, I'm so bummed. I got all excited when I saw that BlogHer '10 was going to be in NYC since I'm in New York; I've been waiting to buy my ticket to BlogHer Food '10 since the first conference sold out...but I don't think I can afford to do CA. :-(

Maybe this time I can go, and join my other blogging half! Perhaps my first trip without the my toddler, even! (The very thought makes me a tiny bit weepy in both good and bad ways . . .)

Thanks for both the repeat location AND the expansion!

I'm so relieved I registered as soon as I saw your tweet, Elisa! Seriously. I'm counting my lucky stars. I was so worried I wasn't going to get a seat this year. ;-) Two days will be fantastic and I love that it's being held in SF again. This will be a terrific event!

I'd be happy to be part of the group that plans the menus to ensure that there are some great meals that folks who have food intolerances can eat safely AND enjoy. (Real food--and dishes prepared from real food--is usually the way to go!) I know there are a few others as well who would love to help with that part of the planning. :-)

So excited!

I can't wait to meet up with my BlogHer Food friends.  Hope everyone makes it back and those who missed out last time.  Hoping The Palace has the whole gluten and dairy free thing down.  Sounds like this year will be even better than last.  Can't wait to hear more about it!
