Today, I'm thrilled to announce the dates and venue for BlogHer Food '11, our third annual food blogging conference!

BlogHer Food will take place on May 20th-21st at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, GA!

So, to anticipate your immediate questions:

1. Yes, we've moved both time of year and city! We're excited to finally bring one of our major events to the South, and Atlanta is an up-and-coming food city. We also think there will be even more fresh, seasonal bounty available for our attendees to sample in the Spring! So, in case you hadn't done the math: The conference is a mere five months away!!

2. Yes, you can register right now. Registration is open. While we are able to increase capacity over the past two years, we still anticipate selling out quickly. You may also notice we've introduced the same tiered pricing that the annual conference features. If you're representing a brand, agency or other corporate organization, please opt for the Company Rate. Our conference sponsors and this new Company Rate are what allow us to keep the prices for the blogging community the same as they've been since the conference launched.

3. The Westin Peachtree is a great venue for the conference...and we got a very attractive room rate of only $149. You can reserve your room now, and we recommend moving on that quickly too.

4. FYI: Expect to see our call for ideas for the conference immediately after the New Year. We're definitely going to be moving fast.

5. Finally, we're also excited that we will once again be partnering with Jeff Davis from Food Fete to produce a Welcome Reception featuring small, local, artisanal food purveyors.

We're very excited to bring BlogHer Food to another part of the country after two wonderful years in San Francisco! Please tell us what you think, and what you would most like to see there

Elisa,
for Elisa, Jory and Lisa, BlogHer co-founders

...about heading to Atlanta for BlogHer Food in May. I've always wanted to attend a BlogHer conference but have never been able to work out the timing. All set!

I am new to BlogHer and BlogHer food...just learning the ropes....

Last year I wanted to attend both the BlogHer conference and the BlogHer food conference, but was afraid to sign up.

Now that I have my courage up, I will miss both! :(

BlogHer falls on my teenager's 16th brithday...and BHF falls just days after I will finish a marathon!

Boo!

I will have to read all the updates and enjoy from afar....

I am sad to see BlogHerFood move from San Francisco (only an hour away from me), but, I LOVE it so much, I will definitely travel to the East Coast to attend this year!!

Woohoo!! Can't wait to see all your familiar faces and meet new ones.

Don't be shy, if I haven't met you, come up and say hi because my goal this year it to meet everyone.

Looking forward to another BlogHer Food. I loved how there were food options for a gluten & dairy free gal at the event. Well all except the opening reception. I only got to drink that night. But the rest of the time I got to eat which made the whole experience wonderful. I just can't concentrate when I'm hungry.

I hope to see more real food sponsors like Cutties. Loved having them at the conference.

Can't wait!

Hi Julie,

Thanks! I will look forward to seeing you again, too. It's pretty exciting that two conferences have been in Atlanta within a year!

I am hoping to see lots of the people at BHF that we met at FBF.

How awesome to see a BlogHer conference coming to Atlanta! I'm no food blogger, just a lover of food, but I would be more than happy to volunteer in any capacity if it means I can gain access to the conference ;) I'm a local Atlanta blogger, so let me know if you need any help! At the same token, I'll be posting about this on Atlanta Todays Mama to get the word out!

As a native Atlantan, I can't wait to attend. This also the weekend of the first Atlanta Food and Wine Festival. It would be great if you could work out something with the conference organizers to plan an excursion with this event.

So excited at all of you who are already confirming you're coming.

It's going to RAWK.

I for one am THRILLED to see BlogHer Food 11 being held in the south. So many east coasters and southern folks at the BHF10 event were just exhausted both days due to travel. I'm already booked, yay!!! BHF10 was my first, so I'm really looking forward to this one for sure.

This will be my first BlogHer conference. I love Atlanta and the Buford Highway Farmer's Market my friend took me to. And I'll get to see Gwen (Bunkycooks) again! I bought my ticket the other night.

We were really just mindful of IFBC and Foodbuzz, lesson learned.

And apparently there's even another one, although not on East Coast. Something called Bloggers in Sin City.

What is it about May? And all three conferences are on the east coast too (Fitbloggin in Baltimore and Eat Write Retreat in D.C.)

Oh well, the less I have to go to the airport, the better.

Having lived vicariously through all the bloggers who attended BlogHer Food 2010, I'm so pleased to see a conference in my town.

I live, work, eat and write in metro-Atlanta. Looking forward to attending.

Hello:

I would LOVE to join everyone again! I had so much fun in San Francisco! Unfortunately, we will be teaching at our Cooking School in Italy then. I'll look forward to seeing everyone next time! I will miss all of the wonderful camaraderie. ☹

Someone going needs to organize a bus trip out to the Dekalb Farmer's Market. http://www.dekalbfarmersmarket.com/ If I still lived in ATL, I would do it.

It is utterly unlike any farmer's market I've ever been to -- basically, the opposite of a locavore experience. BUT it has a wild array of international foods, including produce, and incredible cheese, meat, and fish. In fact, even in as sophisticated a foodie audience as BlogHer Food, I'll bet that everyone who goes finds SOMETHING they cannot identify, or at least have never seen before in real life.

The DFM is one of the top 3 things I miss the most about living in Atlanta.

I have only just joined Blogher after visiting for months. I am so excited that BlogHer food will be close enough for me to get to. Thanks for choosing a southern city! Can't wait!

Why Cook the Story ( http://www.cookthestory.wordpress.com )? Because food with a past is so very seductive. And, because stories that make you drool are better than those that don't.

I can't believe you guys are going to Atlanta. I was married there and raised my family there for 26 years. I remember when they built the Westin, and then I got to know the girl who played the piano up in the revolving restaurant that was the tallest and coolest thing at the time....

I first tasted frozen chocolate yogurt while waiting for the bus and looking up at the Westin....

Y'all are going to love it. I can't afford to come, but I shall certainly be there vicariously!

For instance, all those attending should be aware of the existence of Underground Atlanta, which is a bunch of restaurants and shops occupying an enormous area and remnant of the civil war era that's literally under downtown Atlanta. Back when I worked across the street from the capital it was old and funky like the French Quarter of New Orleans and I ate lunch there almost every day. Then they rennovated it and so now it's not quite so funky, but the attractions remain otherwise the same.

Have fun!
