Announcing Two BlogHer Holiday Meet-Ups! Join us in SF or NYC on December 3, 2009

The holidays are upon us. No, really, they are. Halloween just ended, and that means it's time to talk holiday fun! BlogHer will kick off the month of December with a meet-up on each coast near each BlogHer office. This year, we'll also do a food drive at each meet-up, so we can help spread the cheer.

Join us on Thursday December 3rd from 6-9PM for the following gatherings. BlogHer meet-ups are open and free to all, but capacity is capped, so we've set up sites for you to RSVP and let us know you'll be there.:

Tres Agaves in San Francisco, CA
130 Townsend Street (near AT&T Park)
La Plaza del Agave Room

We will serve hors d'ouevres and dessert in both locations. We will also collect donations for local food banks in each location:

In San Francisco, we are working with the San Francisco Food Bank, who knows us well from the 676 pounds of food we donated after BlogHer Food '09. They have provided this handy list of desired donations. [PDF]

In New York, we are working with the Food Bank for New York City. They have also provided a list of Most-Needed Foods, and even personal care items they'll collect.

Please note: Neither location will accept items in glass jars or containers.

We hope you are able to join us at our expanded version of an office party next month. We also hope some of the BlogHer Local Groups in other cities may decide to get together on the 3rd as well and incorporate both fun and a food drive too! Please leave a comment below if you end up holding a BlogHer local meet-up for the holidays, and we'll help you get the word out.

This is perfect timing. Just yesterday I booked a trip to San Francisco for work for Dec 2nd-4th. I'll be working during the day and I had nothing planned for the evening of Dec 3rd. But now I do! I'm all signed up and looking forward to attending.

I am in NYC for business Nov 17-20 (I leave about noon Fri). If Wed or Thurs you wish to get a few writer/moms together, I'd love to meet for a drink. There are a few twittermoms I have wished to meet I cld invite them along as well.

But alas I'm already completely booked up. (Christmas exchanges, Nutcracker, etc.) But next trip! I'm usually in town a few times a year.

Vancouver Meet-Up

I just got off the phone with the very cool Terra (aka Zoey Jane) of Mommy Is Moody fame, and we're really excited about the possibilities of some holiday cheer in our rainy city.

We're thinking about Sunday, December 5th for a few reasons and hope that there will be some other Vancouverites interested in meeting up. We'll be tweeting and blogging to gauge interest, and hope to meet some other local kindred, writerly souls next month!
