Announcing: The 2013 BlogHer Voices of the Year!

BlogHer Original Post

Six weeks + 2,600 submissions + 15 committee members = The 2013 BlogHer Voices of the Year! (Affectionately known as #VOTY.)

This year's VOTY submission process has been a magnificent journey through the hearts and minds of the blogosphere. We are so excited to honor these 100 bloggers -- writers, speakers, and artists, who have pushed us to think more, feel more, share more, and do more.

BlogHer '13 Voices of the Year

Before we announce the 100 honorees -- including the four People's Choice winners and the 12 BlogHer '13 Community Keynote readers -- we want to thank our Voices of the Year Selection Committee, comprised of past readers and BlogHer staff, who worked tirelessly to carefully review each and every one of the 2,600 submissions. Each post was reviewed at least twice, over two rounds of review, and we have to thank them for their countless hours of work!

Former VOTY Reviewers:

BlogHer Staff Reviewers:
  • Claudia Smurthwaite (BlogHer Events/Registration Manager)
  • Denise Tanton (BlogHer Community Manager)
  • Diane Lang (BlogHer Social Media Manager and VOTY '11)
  • Donna Schwartz Mills (from SoCal Mom and BlogHer '12 Events Staff)
  • Elisa Camahort Page (BlogHer Co-founder)
  • Grace Hwang Lynch (BlogHer Section Editor)
  • Jane Collins (BlogHer V.P. Market Research)
  • Jenna Hatfield (BlogHer Section Editor)
  • Jory Des Jardins (BlogHer Co-founder)
  • Julie Ross Godar (BlogHer Executive Editor)
  • Karen Ballum (BlogHer Community Moderator)
  • Lisa Stone (BlogHer Co-founder)
  • Rita Arens (BlogHer Deputy Editor)
  • Stacy Morrison (BlogHer Editor-in-Chief)
  • Teresa Pedrozo (BlogHer Client Services Coordinator)
  • ...and me! Shannon Carroll (BlogHer Conference Programming Manager and VOTY '08)

Thanks to each and every one of you for signing on for the nearly-impossible task of choosing just 3% of the submissions for recognition during this year's Voices of the Year Community Keynote on Friday July 26th at BlogHer '13. That 3% translates into 100 submissions which will be honored both during the Community keynote -- they'll have front-and-center seating during the keynote, and all will be invited to take the stage after the keynote readings for a bow and group photo -- and after the keynote at the Voices of the Year reception, where you will be able to review their work.

Without further ado, your 2013 Voices of the Year are...
