There is nothing more embarrassing than those acne pimples that break out at just the wrong time. Well, here’s a way that you can deal with them in a totally natural way. It turns out that apple cider vinegar is great for acne treatment and acne scars. Beat that Proactiv!

Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial solution. It helps to clear blemishes on the skin by balancing the skin's acidity and killing bacteria. When used as a toner, it absorbs the excess oil from skin that causes breakouts. Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is the most frequently used beta-hydroxy acid when it comes to skin care. It clears away excess oil, cleans out your pores and exfoliates your skin to loosen and help remove dead skin cells.

Beware – Not all apple cider vinegars are created equal!

*Many commercial apple cider vinegars have been pasteurized, filtered, refined or distilled in order to make the product look good, and much of the extra processing destroys much of the healthy goodness. The best type of apple cider vinegar to use is one made from cold pressed, organically grown whole apples, in which no chemicals or preservatives have been added. This type of wholesome apple cider vinegar can be found in most health food stores. Now put those ingredients together and you have a recipe that clears up your complexion!

Ingredients: 1/2 ounce organic apple cider vinegar 3 ounces mineral water (or distilled water) 5 Plain aspirin tablets (uncoated)

Instructions: 1. Dilute 1/2 ounce organic apple cider vinegar with 3 ounces water. 2. Crush aspirin tablets. (You can use BC powders) 3. Add aspirin tablet mixture to water and vinegar mix. 4. Apply toner sparingly to areas with acne, rough skin or enlarged pores. The solution will stay fresh for one month in the refrigerator. 5. Rinse your face thoroughly and tone and apply moisturizer as usual.  You can use this treatment 2x a week.

Keep in mind:

Apple cider vinegar has a strong odor and dries out skin. Some redness and tingling is normal and should go down in about 10 minutes after using. Remember to be careful because apple cider vinegar is an acid and can actually burn your skin if you're not careful.

And most importantly moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Other benefits of Apple cider vinegar: If you suffer from age spots, the sulfur in apple cider vinegar helps it treat these spots, causing them to fade gradually. The effect of apple cider vinegar on age spots appears to work best when you drink the beverage and apply it directly to the spots. Mixing the vinegar with onion juice can help speed the process.

And if you are suffering from anything from sunburns to an insect bite it can help alleviate the sting and redness. Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and pat the affected area. So whether you have a blemish dilemma or had a date with poison ivy, apple cider vinegar is worth having around the house.
