Bloggers Get to Know Themselves Better with ArchetypeMe

Update 3/16/13: This sweepstakes has now ended. Thank you for your interest! You can still read the bloggers' posts by clicking on the links below.

Have you ever asked yourself: Who am I?  I wonder why I like that? Or why does she act the way she does?  Or why do he and I get along so well?

In this two-part series, bloggers were invited by ArchetypeMe and BlogHer to get answers to those questions by finding out their archetypes, and the archetypes of others. In their first posts, bloggers discuss who they think they are and start to explore the ArchetypeMe website.  In their second posts, they share what they've learned after taking the quiz.  Click on the links below to read their posts and enter for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card!

ArchetypeMe is a new website that is redefining “personal” search by helping you curate, express, and discover differently, through the filter of archetypes. Click here to take the quiz and if you want to dig deeper into what archetypes can unlock for you, there is a book (Archetypes: Who Are You?) currently available and a webisode series set to premiere at the end of January.

Discover Some Great Things

You may remember me posting about a new website, ArchetypeMe. I've since joined and discovered some great things! I've learned more about me, my archetypes, and types of things I like to read about and discover! When I first signed up, the survey determined this....I made sure to be 100% honest when answering the survey, so these results didn't shock me all too much....more

Creativity and Self Expression

I took the test and met my archetype. It was fun, like taking a Sassy magazine quiz, but more thoughtful. The results were not so much surprising as they were, well, inconclusive. But that is me, I guess, I should have learned by now. A dilettante. Some of this, a little of that. The results reflected my self-perception as a creative, inquisitive, slightly iconoclastic person....more

The Big Reveal

A while back I shared a little about ArchetypeMe, a website based on discovering who you are. I shared my predictions of what I thought my three archetypes would be and now I'm back to reveal whether or not I failed miserably or got them right! Before I dive into the quiz results, let me refresh your memory. An archetype, according to the website, ""is a pattern of behavior. It explains who you are and how you engage with the world around you."...more

I'm Still Talking

Remember my quest for self-discovery? Remember all that talking? And random conversations in the dish department at Wal-Mart and whether Christmas decorations could become Valentine's Day decorations and how I wanted to find out more about myself? I did it! I took the quiz on ArchetypeMe and learned a whole lot more about what makes me...well...me. Are you curious? Want to see what I discovered?...more

Doing Some Digging

Lately, life has been a little crazy. With two babies, the flu that seems to never end, my blog responsibilities, and whatnot, I seem to somehow forget the big picture. The goals I set seem to temporarily get put on the back burner and life kind of stands still. Sometimes this is nice, but mostly, it makes me feel stuck. So I had to do some digging, which brings me back to last week's discussion of learning more about who I am and what my personality is, and how I don't want to be "stuck."...more

Charlotte, The Beta Version

Playing around on ArchetypeMe is teaching me a lot about myself. Like, for example, the fact I know nothing about myself. After I took the personality quiz I excitedly brought up my personalized news feed (called "The Daily Me"). According to the quiz I'm mainly (47%) a Caregiver, with a sprinkling of Intellectual and Spiritual. That all sounded good, but as I looked through the news stories I discovered that while they reflected exactly what I'd told the quiz I was like......more

Find Out Who I Am

I'm so glad to hear that you guys are having fun learning who you are and getting generated content on the ArchetypeMe website! While I've never taken quizzes like this too seriously (as someone said in the comments last time we chatted about this, it's important to not limit yourself or put yourself in a box based on results), I have been having tons of fun with the content that ArchetypeMe has generated based on my quiz results....more

Figuring Out the Real Me

After thinking about what category my personality falls under, I dove right in on ArchetypeMe.Com and took the quiz. The quiz was simple to understand and easy to continue from one question to the next. I loved the layout of the website; it was simple and precise. You only have to answer less than ten questions before you get results. Here's what I got......more

Meet My Archetypes

A week or two ago, I told you all about ME! I told you who I think I am, and what sorts of things are important to me. That introspective post was a set-up for today's post. Since then, I have taken ArchetypeMe's quiz to find out exactly which archetypes are mine! I defined and labeled myself as being: a rule-follower, overly emotional, and a little manic-obsessive. So let's see how my self-assessment measured up to ArchetypeMe's assessment of me......more

Getting to Know Your Archetype, Part 2

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was recently given the opportunity to discover a little more about who I am by using the self-discovery tools on a fun website called ArchetypeMe.com. ArchetypeMe has set up a series of questions for each person to answer that filters your responses and defines who you are. This is useful information to consider so you can better understand your interests, better express yourself, and make a better connection with those around you....more
