I am a cookbook lover. I get ideas from them and find them comforting. I read them on snowy winter nights tucked into my flannel sheets, dreaming of exotic smells in far-flung locales. I browse them on summer weekends as the scent of the charcoal and cooking meat wafts over the arborvitae hedge.
I love cookbooks. I've always gravitated to them and just like you, I love to curl up with a cup of tea or glass of wine and flip through the pages and dream.
And cook from them, too! I even like books that aren't necessarily about cooking but have recipes in them. Books like Under the Tuscan Sun or French Women Don't Get Fat (or whatever the title is).
My favorites* are:
Your Organic Kitchen by Jesse Ziff Cool
The Green's Cookbook by Deborah Madison
and just about anything from Cooking Light. I use their recipes all the time.
