Learn why it's important that you present a consistent, clear picture of you and how to do so in this helpful article. Don't get caught unaware and embarrassed because your profiles are out of sync.



We’ve all read how often employers and recruiters Google job seekers. They definitely do! And, often one of the first things Google shows employers is a link to the job seeker's LinkedIn Profile. So, expect that your LinkedIn Profile and your resume will be compared.

Your resume and LinkedIn profile should not be exactly alike, because your resume should be customized to each opportunity you apply for. But your resume and profile should align so that employers see a clear, consistent “picture” of you.

Hard part is that LinkedIn should be all encompassing to maximize a genuine network, while a resume is a targeted document. And while I'm a LinkedIn proponent for recruiting and networking, I admit I prefer fishing in it's waters more than I do being hunted.
