I don't want to forget the beauty of the Humuya Inn Apartments where I  lived during the late spring inTegucigalpa, Honduras. I now have my own comfy condo. However, tropical beauty and art abounds in the apartment complex that was home for several months.

With the start of the rainy season, the garden is blooming.

This yellow flowering shrub attracts hummingbirds almost every day.
This is part of a wall mural recently added the courtyard area. I don't have a wide angle lenses but the mural is much larger than pictured here.

Objects like these are for sale in the gift shop. The black and white motif is typical of the Lenca tribe, an indigenous group of Honduras that survives to this day.

Wooden carved objects are probaby the most popular art item in Honduras. Since the country is virtually covered in forests, there are infinite types of wood carvings available. Boxes are probably the most popular art form favored by toursts. Honduras is the second poorest naton in the Central American/Carribean region.  However, there is always  beauty to be found, even in places where poverty and oppression are the normal landsccape of life. I strive to find beauty, and to not dwell on the children who sniff glue to stifle hunger pains, or women who can't afford to feed their children. I believe that one day the lion and the lamb will lie dwon together. And little chldren will have enough to eat. And everyone will enjoy art and gardens.
