Ashleigh Burroughs on Sitting Through Jared Loughner's Competency Hearing
Editor's Note: Yesterday, Jared Lee Loughner was declared not competent to stand trial for killing six people and injuring 14 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, in Tuscon on January 15, 2011. Today, one of the shooter's victims, BlogHer Ashleigh Burroughs, wrote a heartbreaking post on how difficult it was to sit through his hearing -- in ways you might expect, and in ways you might not. This is a must-read. -- Julie
Everyone wanted a piece of us, a comment, a photograph. The marshals kept them at bay and we stopped sitting and stood up and I took my achy breaky self down the hallways and elevators and I came home.
And sat down.
Everything hurts. My heart. My head. My hip. My glute.
