Asking Questions, Getting Answers, Achieving Goals and Dreams

I have so many ideas, goals and dreams swirling around my head that I have a hard time figuring out where to begin and where to focus the path and endpoint. But when I get things figured out I know that I have a universe of kind souls who will help answer any questions I have along the way.

Wendy Piersall at her newly re-named and re-launched site sparkplugging.com has a wonderful post about getting what you ask for where she recounts a tale about Tony Robbins:

I think you can probably guess what Tony would have done had this guy asked for it all - he would have given it all to him. But he didn’t ask for it. So he didn’t get it.

I urge you to read all of "You are Worth What you Say you are Worth" both for the Tony Robbins story and for Wendy's empowering message about asking for what you are worth.

Velveteen Mind
has another wonderful post which shows what happens when you do not ask for what you want:

The problem is that what I really want involves the risk of rejection.

Allow me to share with you my rejection score-card, so far:

Magazine # of Queries Sent / # of Rejections Received

Parents 0 / 0

Wondertime 0 / 0

Parenting 0 / 0

Notice how I have managed to remain rejection-proof? Nice how it works out that if you don't actually put yourself out there, no one can reject your work.

Our very own CE Jen Lemen recently developed a plan and then put out a request to her universe which delivered everything she needed and then some:

And then there is always twitter where questions are asked and answered every day.

@QueenofSpain (BlogHer CE Erin Kotecki Vest) asked for help making slides and @CityMama offered up her husband.

@vdebolt (BlogHer CE Virginia DeBolt) was looking for books to review and I helped pass the message along by retweeting.

@arkrausehardie (Rebecca KrauseHardie) asked for our votes. Her link led me to a very cool contest from the Case Foundation where they will award $25,000 to a group that offers "an inspiring, rewarding way to make a difference in your community." Take a look and vote for your final four.

@mommystory (Christina Mc) wrote a great open letter to the presidential candidates and asked for help getting the word out so that perhaps they might hear and listen:

Amazed at the support for my post. If you haven't already, Digg, Sk*rt, or Stumble it, OK? Maybe they'll notice?

The common theme with these requests is that they are specific and simple to answer. If you can frame a question and put it out to your network, ask the universe or ask it in accordance with your faith, I believe it will be answered.

I'll get back to you with my questions once I figure out what to ask, but until then, how can I help you make your dreams come true or reach your goals?

You have to do the prep work to get your project to a point where people can help you. But I agree, if you can do that, people will want to help when and where they can.
