Augmented Reality. Starbucks Cup Magic is Back for Love.

I have this growing interest in augmented reality marketing. I'm a little bit obsessed..in a good way!
I first discussed augmented reality (AR) back in November and featured some well-known brands using the technology to engage with its customers and spark excitement. AR is the type of marketing that creates the viral effect brands salivate for and customers swoon over. Customers like me. I love being part of AR and seeing inanimate objects come to life.
The most recent, being the red heart on the front of my Starbucks cup. This is the second time in less than 4 months where Starbucks has offered us the AR experience. During the holidays we were given whimsical winter characters to play with and the challenge to find them all. Typically, we would look forward to iconic red Starbucks cups to magically appear at the end of October because that only meant one thing...the holidays were coming! Starbucks, in its success with AR, has programmed us to look forward to the next interactive escape.
