Thinking of my cousin, in her wheelchair for most of her adult life, never giving up on cheerfully helping others..Imagine her wheeling up to her low counter and making a meal for her husband while he was out playing hockey..Mind you he does way more for her than most husbands do, and he knew from the day he married her about her disease. Still the man deserves a medal! But her attitude to life, as uncertain as how long she has with lung problems now and heart, truly amazes all of us..and now she needs to be a role model for another cousin who just lost his right leg after his motorcycle accident this month. She works from her chair, teaching a course once a week for a student, and as a volunteer sorts through books and materials that are sent to third world countries. now these kinds of cousins are the kind that should be on the cover of magazines, but only famous people get covered for so little that they accomplish..why not remeber the ordinary people who fight against great odds and make this world a better place?
