Mom sat me down in front of her old Singer when I was about eight-years-old. Together we made skirts, then simple dresses, later pin-tucked blouses, quilts and more. Weekends were spent in the isles of local craft shows, looking for new ideas to replicate.
As an engagement present, Mom gave me my own sewing machine. It's been a love/hate relationship, one in which I have left my machine sitting in the back of a dark closet, dusty, only to be pulled out for a quick repair or hem. But since becoming a mother, my sewing machine has been a regular fixture on our dining room table, along with my glue gun, beading supplies, and craft paper. So why not share some of those creations and ideas!
