Barn Dance and BBQ: Natural Decor

I was super excited to design the décor for a fundraiser to support a local domestic violence shelter.  The setting was beautiful:  In an old coal mining era company store, which was restored in 1997.  You can read more about the Eclipse Company Town, in which the structure stands, here.   The old wooden structure is warm and inviting, with honey colored wooden floors and large front windows, and a large front deck.  The setting is also very beautiful--tucked away among the trees and set beside a bike path that runs through Athens, The Plains, and on the Nelsonville.

I decided that the décor must accentuate the natural tone of the setting, as well as the theme of the even, which fit perfectly:  Barn Dance and BBQ.  My whole orientation to the décor is that that natural is beautiful--and that you don't need to fuss too much to bring about natural beauty---

Here are some pictures--just follow the link!  I hope that you find inspiration when planning your own event!
