Beans and rice. Rice and beans. There's even a blog by that name, Rice and Beans. Whatever the order, these two foods belong side by side, a matched set, a demanded duo. Some times the beans are black, other times red.

I made black beans and rice today - YUM. I would have used red beans, but was wanting black beans instead. I will use these in burritos later in the week. I make beans all the time. At least every other week, if not every week. I freeze some and am lucky that my daughter loves beans like I do!

Hm...I love Red Beans and Rice! My Grandmother makes some with andouille sausage. My favorite recipe is by Alex Jamieson in The Great American Detox Diet. It's so flavorful.
