Beautiful Moments Every Day

BlogHer Original Post

Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the traditional idea of beauty in this new digital age we live in. I find myself constantly inspired by beautiful images online and in magazines, picture-perfect women with flawless skin and enviable outfits.

I am embarrassed to say that I compare myself to this idea of beauty more frequently than I'd like to admit. To break this habit I decided to concentrate on the little moments in my daily life that make me feel beautiful. These moments don't include designer dresses and overpriced makeup, but the reality of my life working from home, and the small things that bring a sense and feel of beauty to my life.

Beautiful Moments Reading

I always try to get up early so I can start my day off with a cup of coffee and a little reading. It's nice to find peace in the morning and get ready for the day.

Beautiful Moments Lipstick

A nice shade of pink lipstick always makes me feel pretty -- even if I'm just running to the grocery store.

Beautiful Moments Manicure

It's important for me to get "ready" every morning, put on my jewelry, wash my face and feel put together even though I spend most of my day working from my home office. I love looking down at a fresh manicure and sparkly jewelry!

Beautiful Moments Perfume

This perfume instantly makes me smile and feel good -- funny how scents can trigger such emotion! I always spritz on my wrists and behind my neck before heading out for a meeting.

Beautiful Moments Flowers

Fresh flowers bring beauty to any room, and instantly make me feel like my home is clean and ready for visitors (even if it's not).

Beautiful Moments Cooking

I probably feel the most beautiful in my cozy slippers, my hair pulled up in a ponytail, with a glass of wine in my hand cooking dinner for my boyfriend and me.

Beautiful Moments Washing Face

There's nothing like an invigorating face scrub and hot shower before bed. I love getting into flannel PJs and reading for an hour before I hit the sack.
