Beauty Box 5 Review
By hereismotherhood on January 08, 2014
I received my Beauty Box 5 for free. However, all opinions in this review are honest and my own.
I love trying new beauty products. So, I jumped at the chance to give Beauty Box 5 a try! Let me enlighten you…
Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling service that delivers 5 samples and/or full size products to your door for $12 a month. You decide if you would like a monthly, quarterly, or yearly subscription. Shipping is free (yay!) and you also receive a discount if you decide to buy from one of their partner brands. The samples they curate are vegan, luxury, niche, eco-conscious, and commonly known brands. What a variety!
Now for the good stuff. Here’s what I received in my box!
1 // Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads- ”The natural way to remove makeup without the use of alcohol or parabens.”
I was really excited for this product. After using it I found that it worked well, just not as effective as my current makeup remover. However, I really liked that this was an all natural & efficient alternative.
2 // Bellapierre Cosmetics Eyeshadow
This is a full size, loose eyeshadow. It appears rather silver in the photo, but on skin it is a nice deep grey colour. Perfect for the smokey eye look!
3 // Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion- “Clinically proven to relieve dry skin, moisturizes for 24 hours, fragrance free”
Who doesn’t love Aveeno?! I love that it absorbs quickly and is effective at relieving dry skin. I promptly threw this trial size in to my purse for on-the-go moisturizing. It’s perfect for this -50 weather we’ve been having!
4 // H20 Plus: face Oasis- “Oil free marine hydration, deeply hydrates, visibly plumps fine lines”
This product feels absolutely luxurious. The hydrating treatment goes on smoothly and is quickly absorbed. It leaves my face feeling soft to the touch, almost like satin! I love it.
5 // Nubar Nail Lacquer (shade: white tip)- “Formaldehyde, Phthalate, & Toluene Free”
I was a bit disappointed with the colour of this polish. It would be great for a French tip, but a bit bold on a full nail (for me, anyways). Although, I think a white nail is on trend in the summer. Am I right? Anyways, the actual product itself is good! The nail lacquer is a great consistency, not globby, and the brush provides easy application. Upon further investigation I discovered that this brand makes gel polishes, too. Perfect to use with my UV lamp!
I really enjoyed opening up my Beauty Box 5! I loved that there was a variety of different products- makeup, skin care, and nail care. If you’re interested in learning more about their subscription program, click here.
