Being a Working Mom

Making the choice to become a mom is an important and quite difficult - do you go back to work after the baby is born or become a stay at home mom.

Let's take a look at what it means to be a stay at home mom.  Choosing to be a stay at home mom means good bye to your dress pants and heals, good bye to grown up conversation and hello to play dates, making lunches and cleaning up after toys.  That might sound awful, but to some it sounds wonderful and you will have the chance to hear your child's first words, see their first steps and be there for their first dance.  Becoming a stay at home parent is a difficult transitition, but completely worth it, if that is what you want.

For those moms that do not find it feasible to stay at home on one salary or do not think it is a good fit for them, going back to work after 3 months is their choice.  That means finding child care - someone or somewhere that you trust to watch and 'raise' your child.  You should take a lot of time and think about where you will take your child.

Either road that you choice is OK - neither choice the right or wrong one - it is what works for you and your family.  Remember that - don't feel like a bad parent if you do not want to stay at home with your kids and also don't feel like you have to stay home.  Both choices work for so many familes, you can make one work for yours!
