On Thanksgiving morning Halle Berry watched in horror as her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry was beaten to a pulp by her fiance Olivier Martinez, an actor who reportedly knows his way around a boxing ring. The altercation came days after a L.A. judge ruled in favor of her Canadian model ex, stipulating that Berry could not move their daughter Nahla, 4, to France.

One of the biggest stories of the year started with a Royal announcement in early December that Duchess Catherine, aka Kate Middleton, was pregnant and hospitalized for a severe case of morning sickness. The news morphed into something far more sinister after two Australian radio DJ's made a prank call to a London Hospital, pretending to be Queen Elizabeth II.
Nurse Jacintha Saldanha, temporarily working the hospital switchboard, inadvertently put the hoax call through to the charge nurse overseeing Kate's care, who provided private details regarding her condition. Shortly thereafter Saldanha committed suicide, 2DayFM hosts Mel Greig and Michael Christian were removed from their jobs and their employer, Southern Cross Austerio, vowed to cooperate fully with police.
