When it comes to your body type and what looks best on it, not all women's jeans are created equal. While some women look great in skinny jeans, others look much better in boot cut jeans, and others look even better in wide leg denim.
Here are a few tips for picking the best jeans for your body type:
1. If you would like to hide a rounded belly or a thick mid-section, go with high-waist jeans. Avoid low-rise jeans, which could create an unflattering "muffin top."
2. If you have large hips, avoid skinny jeans - these call attention to the hips and thighs - and go with a shape-balancing boot cut or flare jeans.
3. If you have a boyish figure, avoid boyfriend jeans - those will visually wipe out the curves that you do have. Tight-fitting skinny jeans will accentuate curves and so are a better choice for you.
4. If you're short, avoid cuffs - they will make your legs appear even shorter.
5. If you have a large rear end, avoid tiny back pockets or no pockets - these make the behind look bigger.
Bootcut and flared jeans made from a denim fabric with a bit of stretch and a darker wash create a long and lean look, which is very flattering to most women.
