Birchbox & Glossybox Reviews (September)
By treasuretromp on October 18, 2012
Another month, another beauty box. Since I just received my October Birchbox in the mail, I figured that I should probably post my September Glossybox and Birchbox (** = my favorite product in the box) Birchbox 1. Color Club - Birchbox Custom Polish (in Status Update): Normally I love getting to try new polish and I've been digging gray lately. This color, however, dried way too dark and look practically black. Unfortunately not my favorite. $8 2. **Vasanti - Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator**: Oh, I love this product. I'm a big, big fan of exfoliating two-three times per week and this product leaves my face feeling so clean, and refreshed. This exfoliator may become a regular in my morning lineup $34 3. Nexxus - Pro-Mend Split End Treatment System: This sample included a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment to help fight slight ends. I was not too impressed with the shampoo and conditioner, but LOVED the leave-in. Since my hair is pretty dry (and color treated) the only product that I use is a goo leave-in conditioner. And this little sample really delivered. I also tried it with my normal shampoo (Nexxus Frizz Control) and it felt fantastic. $9.99-14.99 4. Mighty Leaf Tea Company - Teas!: Oh hello yummy teas to add to my tea box (yes, tea box). Thanks for the addition, Birch! $9.95 5. 21 Drops - Focus Aromatherapy Blend: I've never really understood aromatherapy but I understand that this blend smells fantastic and I want to put it on all of the time. Does it help me clear my mind and promote concentration? Probs not, but I like it anyway. $29 6. twistband - I didn't like like the first twistband I received but they have won me over for sure. The band didn't tangle easily in my hair (a BIG plus for me) and hey - it was pretty. And pretty gets points $14-22 Glossybox (possibly my favorite beauty box I have received yet) 1. OC8 - Professional Mattifying Gel: Confession, I get a greasy t-zone in the afternoon. Gross, I know, but you probably do also so let's all grow up. If you do, though, this product is fantastic for you. Let me repeat that - shiny face = use this project. I've used it just about every day since receiving my Glossybox. Apply this product after your moisturizer but before makeup. $30 2. GKHair - Shampoo & Conditioner: This shampoo and conditioner was pretty nice. I wasn't crazy about the smell of the products but they left my hair feeling really light and healthy ... so, mission accomplished? $20 each 3. Missha - M Perfect Cover BB Cream, SPF 42 in No 27 (Honey Beige): Well I think that you all know my view on face makeup by now (as in I hate it) but I have mixed feelings about this product. There is a slight color to this product which makes me a bit uncomfortable. If I or somebody else can tell that I have face make up on (again, besides blush), it is a clear no-go. And yes, I could slightly tell that I had some makeup on but it also made my skin look pretty smooth and BB creams are suppose to be fairly alright for your skin. So this product is a toss up for m $30 4. Kryolan for Glossybox - Moisture Rich Lipstick in GLOSSY Pink: I hate lipstick. ugh. It gets all over the place and looks too fake generally. But umm, I love this product. Yes, love it. The color isn't too intense and a little bit goes a long way. It stays true to its name and doesn't dry out my lips, which is especially important entering into the colder seasons. I've added this lipstick to my daily travel cosmetics bag, right next to my Rosebud Salve. Overall, September's Birchbox was alright, but I loved my Glossybox. Loved it.
