Bite Sized Apple Pies

I love apple pie. It’s such a warm-you-inside-and-outside flavor so of course my mouth started watering the minute I saw miniature apple pies on Pinterest. I used the recipe from Cooking Up North for the inspiration and converted my normal apple pie recipe into these delicious treats.


1 Granny Smith apple

1 premade pie crust

¼ cup white sugar

¼ brown sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 tsp all spice

1 tsp nutmeg

Egg wash


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Mix white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, all spice, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Core and slice apple into 8-10 half moon pieces. Add apple pieces to sugar mixture and coat thoroughly.

Roll out pie crust on lightly floured surface to ¼ inch thickness. Cut into 8-10 strips (depending on how many apple pieces you have). Roll dough around an apple piece (like a crescent dinner roll), repeat for remaining apple pieces. Place apple pieces on non-stick cookie sheet (or lightly spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray).

Brush apple pieces with egg wash and top with remaining sugar mixture.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.

Serve warm or room temperature.

And watch out for thieves.
