Man, oh man.

My weekend is officially screwed.

I have avoided all of the Guitar Hero games like the plague.

I have serious games to play; I don't have time for frivolous games like Guitar Hero. [cough]

Unfortunately, all of my efforts were for naught. The husband has officially undermined my authority and has brought the damn game home.

Bastard.

The cute little guitar is sitting in the corner right now...mocking me.

In preparation for the blessed event, my mom and in-laws had been quizzing us on what presents they should buy for the rugrat.

Initially, [as in several months ago] we said, "Get her anything! She really likes kitties, but we figure she'll like whatever you get her."

What more could a grandparent ask for than carte blanche permission to buy their grandchild whatever they wanted?

And then Dora and Boots were recalled. [See! I told you they were EVIL!]

Every time I turned on the television, something else was being ripped from the shelves due to excessive lead levels.

Hold on. Time out.

Am I the only one who thinks that any level of lead is excessive?!

I feel better now. Back to the story.

I meticulously picked through Cara's hodge podge of toys.

Most are stuffed animals and books with the occasional block tossed in for good measure.

None of her toys were on any of the recall lists.

BIG sigh of relief.

After the initial recall, my tune changed a bit when it came to potential birthday presents.

Links to recall lists were emailed and I was emphatic about the evels of Lead Level Dora and her sidekick Bad Boots. [Sounds like a super hero, no? An evil super hero]

What I really wanted to tell everyone was to buy her wood.

Read the rest here.

Night before last, Tucker hooked Steve III
up to the Internet so that we could update him. I’m pretty freaking
technologically gifted, but I have no idea what Tucker did to the cable
and the modem.

At one point yesterday, I decided to disconnect everything and put it back the way it had been.

Right. Not a snowball’s chance in hell.

I had to wait until he got home from Job 2 (Old Navy) to watch any news or get on the computer. Sad times.

Am I the only one who finds it really funny that Tucker’s resume will say U.S. Navy and then Old Navy.

Yeah, so if you haven’t noticed, today’s installment of craziness is amazingly random. Please try to follow along.

I’m about to loose two of my three readers by admitting this, but I smoke. [I promise there’s a point to me admitting this]

I grew up in the “special snowflake” generation. Mine is the group who expects pats on the backs for doing our job correctly and require constant positive reinforcement and praise or our heads will explode and we will turn into puddles of icky greenish goo.
